At its core, Pax Dei is a social game, and the enjoyment of it really shines when playing with a clan or community.

A lot of the negative reviews with a pinch of salt, many of them are due to the massive login queues and bugs related to that. As of this writing, the servers are down for a few hours, to implement a patch, that introduces more servers, to allow everyone to play the game. So with that out of the way, I'd like to say that the gameplay itself is good. The game is a niche, if you buy with the intention of playing solo or purely PvE, it is not for you. The game is permanent PvP and full loot by design. The entire game is based around everyone can attack you at any point, even in towns, though guards will kill them in return, if they try. When you die, everything you have on your character will be dropped on the ground, for anyone to take. It is a niche that many people will dislike, but it is the core design, which the rest of the game is made to, which is also it's charm.

It's nice.
