A game so cool even Kojima subscribed - no idea if the port is any good. I watched the intro and promptly went to buy 10 Cuban cigars....

First impressions:
Gorgeous art, slick controls and satisfying combat. It's like Ori and Okami fused together with some old skool flavour and modern combo/combat design. Very impressed so far....

Completionist syndrome:
Wow, I am normally not one to replay levels hunting achievements or trinkets - but there is something about the game design that just lends itself to wanting to collect every collectable, explore every dark corner for secrets and unlocks. It is all tracked and maintained in a manageable U.I that does not overwhelm. This will add longevity - even for those players who usually just plough through a main story line.

After thought:
I know similarities between this and Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound will be made, which is fair enough. However, this has been moderinsed in terms of gameplay and combat while the former remains more true to the old-skool hardcore experience.

Conclusion:
So, pick Shinobi if you want flashy combos and forgiving mechanics and pick Ninja Gaiden if you want to feel like an 8-yer old playing a NES game for the first time OR for speedrunning; I believe both games are suited for some slick speedruns.

I first tried playing this many aeons ago.... before Horus was a mere twinkle in the Emperor's eye (more or less) and the game didn't click.

However, and this is a big caveat - after obtaining ALL the DLC via the Adeptus Mechanicus's help - the Omnissiah be praised - I returned to the field of battle and the game opened up.

It takes several battles to get used to the mechanics of even one faction (the tutorial is several codex's behind) - but once you gain an understanding through trial by fire then the game had me thinking what I could have done better next time - better handling of resources, build order and units, etc. Also a pox on the Tau and their tech (I digress).

I have yet to rise to the standard of Gulliman but by the Emperor my duty will not end. You most likely have the base game in your library - give it another chance and slowly pick up the DLC when it is on sale because the pricing is of Drukhari design.

The game is good - This is cinematic narrative done well. Don't worry though it will appear on Xbox Gamepass soon! How do I know this? Because I just bought it and that means it will arrive shortly - trust me *SMH*

Great time sink to zone out too - plus I just got boosted by a random high level player and it reminded me of WOW back in the good ol' days. So yeah - worth it in my humble arm chair opinion.

Ok, Ok - First off I am going through my ONE PIECE phase and this is the most ONE PIECE game I have played, after all ' Yakuza and Pirates are not so different'. Its light hearted but full of heart if that makes sense, a ragtag crew of Pirates setting sail for a lost treasure - only to find that together is the real treasure. STRAW HAT fans gotta give this a shot. Yakuza fans too - WIN WIN. WE ARE - PIRATES!

Pssssttt... You! Yes, you reading these reviews - I'm sorry but the fact you are here perusing user reviews means that this game has peeked/piqued your interest.

The bad news: It is already too late my friend - it's simply a matter of time untill you pull the trigger on this purchase or if not time, then budget but alas it is futile. It WILL happen. No use fighting it.

The good news: The game is awesome and from awesome devs. It is one of those games crafted by people who love what they do and have put a lot of heart and hard work into this gem of a game. From balance to art design and gameplay - it all really shines. So maybe it will be you leaving the next Stellar review (I tried not to but it was low hanging fruit).

Excelsior!

So Perturabo walks in to the Dark Machanicus library and asks,
"Where are the books on Paranoia?"
To which the servator whispers,
"rrrright behind you..."

Oh yeah good game...

I thought "Oooh Persona with a fantasy twist..." and that was an under statement. The pacing, world building and characters are all top tier. I went in thinking it would be a clone and instead it's a whole new breed baby. Highly recommended.
