Amazing vr game. I've never had as much fun and as much of a workout in any other VR game. Fell in love with the art style, weapons and mechanics pretty early on into playing it. If you own a VR headset and are looking for a fun time then this is 100% worth it.

Issue(s):

The way the game handles the camera orientation is a bit janky. I've had to reset my room alignment after most battles since the second you kill the last enemy it sets that direction you were looking as the default orientation. It's not enough to be majorly annoying but it deffo takes the immersion out a bit.

I'm not a huge fan of the final boss since it's got sooo much HP and is quite repetitive until the last phase.

Recommendation(s):

Interactive maps
I think adding more interactive maps would be nice. Instead of having hazards be active constantly or occasionally, why not have some be activated via buttons/targets? I feel that having things in the arena that you can help liven it up and bring a new about new tactics/strats.

Equipable arms
Adding in the ability to bring an extra arm or two into the arena could be sick and would help with the final boss. For example, If you lose an arm, you could reach behind your head and pull out another arm and jam it into the missing arm's socket at the cost of its locomotion being horrendous, it'd save you from flailing one arm around while having the other one doing nothing. It'd also bring more options an extra layer when build planning.

Phenomenal game, I haven't seen such a fun, quirky and terrifying game like this done the way it's been done before. It has a breathtaking story of unity and loyalty with a contrasting grotesque kind of dystopian world that has you on your toes whether it's finding food, powerups, looking out for enemies or finding water.

I can't recommend this game enough. I finished it 20 mins ago of my writing this and my mind is still in awe from the journey this game brought me on. If you want to watch some gameplay, Jerma has a few good VODS.

10/10 Don't get too attatched to your lil dudes

Welp, here I am again. After 100% completing Iceborne I posted the review, I think I had about 1.1K hrs when I did it but with this game, I 100% completed it in like 2 weeks with 188hrs. Granted this is before any title update but damn I love this game.
It took the best parts of World and Rise and combined it into one game and threw a whole bunch of sprinkles on it.
It's truly a shame the optimization is how it is and that half the playerbase could straight up just not play the game. I've had my more than fair share of game breaks and visual bugs, some of which made the game unplayable. Even still I think this game is worth it. There are no bad fights, there are no bad themes, hitting offsets and counters is like shooting fairy dust into your brain, the weapons all feel so damn good to play and my god the weapons and armour look amazing. I only hope the devs can make the game playable to those who can't play, that they can keep putting out banger fights and to maybe have the endemic life that you catch be put on display. I'll upload a new review once I 100% the dlc that'll follow this game.

After a thousand hours, I can finally say that I've experienced all this game has to offer. I've had my share of frustrating moments but for every bad memory there are many more great ones. From hunting monsters, building the best gear, mastering the weapons, catching the endemic life, making amazing looking armours and making friends with the great community, this game has it all. It can be clunky and some missions can be a drag but that aside this game is perfect for me. I loved having to learn the monsters attacks and to make the right builds to progress further. I loved catching the endemic life and placing them in my home especially the rare endemic life since it added so much for those who decided to look deeper. I'll never forget the times I've had with my friends fighting Kulve together, I'll never forget running to the top of Hoarfrost to check for the Wintermoon Nettle during quests and I'll never forget the first time I beat Fatalis. Now 36 Fatalis kills later and every armour type, every endemic life, every weapon (safi weapons included), every layered equip, every decoration, every pendant and every furniture type collected, my Monster Hunter World journey ends..

I truly recommend this game to anyone who reads this, even if you get a fraction of the joy I've had from playing this I'd consider it well worth the price. It's got challenge and great immersion.

I'll start with the characters. There are three main characters you control: Fran, Octavio and Anu. Anu is by far the most interesting character, she's socially awkward with a lot of movements/gestures that show how she's feeling and has an actual moral compass, but most importantly she has a no kill rule (kinda) which makes her more interesting. Octavio is very bland. He's a stereotypical happy go lucky guy who cares about his image too much and is a coward, what makes it worse is that he has nothing else to go with it. Unlike Anu he has no moral compass, he has little to no affection to those around him and is genuinely easy to forget. Fran is much worse. Fran is much like Octavio in that she's bland and has no moral compass. She's a fat angry frozen yogurt worker who instead of having a character just tends to be comedic relief as well as a "beat 'em up" type character, she's got an angry side and a "trying not to be angry side" which honestly was a good dynamic except it was thrown to the wind in the second chapter. The story itself is bland as well. Since the characters aren't vault hunter material the story has to adapt by dumbing down literally everything else around it. Enemies have no braincells and instead of having serious talks/action scenes the story opts for pure comedic relief. I despise how the vault monster was slow and done absolutely nothing. The characters could stand there talking, screaming even without the monster batting an eye. The ONLY redeemable thing I see in this game is the side characters, Louise is a good comedic relief character with satisfying predictability and good design, Rhys was especially good here since he had a more stable background (the only character with one at all tbh) and Stapleface was cool to see. It sucks to see how the tales from the borderlands fell off, the first one was really good for what it was. The characters in that game were so much better, the story was good and the scenery was great.

TLDR: This game is like the first one, but with bland characters, no story, no pleasing visuals and is just 99% family guy comedic relief with only like three good characters.

It's fun, but it also has bad downsides, dungeons can be really unfair solo and raids pretty much require a fireteam of 5-6 people which is hard if you're like me and don't have that many willing friends. The amounts of times I've died due to bugs or lost progress in whatever I'm doing due to crashes is insane so maybe once this game gets some bug patches or fixes it'd be much more fun to play.

Is good, have played it a lot but for it to be fun you need to have modded the game and added songs that you enjoy onto it, which is hard since the people who make the mod manager has to remake it each time this game updates, which is annoying
