533.5 hrs on record (133.7 hrs at review time)
According to steam here I have 133.7 hours on record for this game at the time of writing. I just finished my first completion of this game. Sure, shave off some time for afk, or losing and replaying a fight or however far back I may have gone from a loss, and admittedly some amount of save scumming. With that out of the way.

This is the greatest Video Game I have ever played. Hands down. And the fact it is only 60 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dollars is insane. I know everyone has their own values and ways of seeing if a game is worth the cost. But even saying something like "One dollar value equals an hour of gametime, playtime, enjoyment," whatever, this doubled that for me. This game had such astounding love and care poured into it by Larian and they achieved something no short of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ legendary. The sheer variety, from spells, abilities, potions, equipment, dialogue, and most of all CHOICE is something I have never seen before let alone from a Triple A studio. Not to mention it released, while not bug free, pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stable as well. I think I experienced one and only one crash and I don't even remember when it happened. I think the only thing I could possibly "complain" about is that not all of the DnD Fith Edition spells, feats, subclasses, and races made it into the game or that the level cap is at 12 not 20. But hey I still had builds going on that could dominate encounters at the end. But this is what mods are for. I didn't have a single mod my first run but I browsed the Nexus mods once to think about a later run. Very quickly I saw mods that added a lot of it not all the missing spells, feats, up to level 20, and at least most of the playable races as well.

But let's get more specific. The Combat? The Combat plays and feels JUST like Tabletop DnD. It's fantastic. It feels fantastic. It's incredibly satisfying, and like I said earlier, there are a million and one different builds to try and you can even respec any character at camp any time for about a hundred gold (provided you find a very hard to miss NPC basically at the beginning of the game)

Story? I'm going to say little on it because spoiling anything would be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tragedy. The game has three acts. While quests might move on when you go to Act 2, you can return to the Act 1 region, but can return to neither when you get to act 3. All acts are hearty and full of content. And all are full of "That's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool" moments. Espescially Act 3 when so many different questlines reach their climaxes. The story is fantastic and took me by surprise multiple times and had twists I did not suspect. And, while I went through the game in a good guy route, the game did a grand job of making me feel appreciated for those good deeds, thanked and rewarded, and remembered for how I helped and saved people.

Characters? The party members I had with me were all great and well written. And the voice actors for all did a grand job, Karlach had an impressive range and depth of emotion to her and Astarion was very expressive both in tone and body language. While this is not meant to detract from any of the other cast I wanted to single these two out with those examples.

My final part is meant more for others who play DnD but (somehow) haven't picked up this game yet. There was something... magical, for lack of a better word, of seeing one of my player characters most important to me and that I have the deepest roots in come to life in the character creation. See them waling around, expressing, fighting, everything. It was surreal in the best way.

To end, this game is a must play. A must try at the very least. I have every intention of starting another playthrough soon and trying different things out. The fact this game is only sixty dollars remains shocking.
Larian? You blew it out of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ water. And I genuinely feel like I underpaid for your product and need to give you more money. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making what was clearly such a deeply held passion project for so much of your team, and for delivering it in such a grand condition espescially in the current game market, and espescially without a single micro transaction. I know you won't put out any expansions and that is to be applauded. I would still buy them in a heartbeat without question.

47.2 hrs on record (21.8 hrs at review time)
Possibly one of the best indie games ever. Definitely competes with several popular triple A titles out there. Doesnt beat them all, but puts up a damn good fight. Some of the most fun (and feels) I've had in a long time. Great soundtrack, fantastic characters, great story. You can date a skeleton. You can make spaghetti with a fish lady. You get a goat mom. Go on a date with a weeaboo lizard scientist girl thing. Go ahead, trust the flower, and whatever you do, dont kill. Honestly, thats how you get the best experience possible out of this. Id hit that thumbs up button quite a lot if I could
