I didn't even realise I had played for 13 hours...

I just lost about 3 hours of gameplay because of a lack of an autosave...

The last thing i expected from Sonic Frontiers was to get better at Monster Hunter... Yet here we are. And, yes, the timing is exactly the same as it is in MH... :mhwgood:

I love this game, I really do. But the complete absence of an autosave feature, even when you finish an age genuinely pisses me off. It's not like it's an impossible feature or anything. The only copies nowadays are digital, so it wouldn't be so bad to just add one.

Everything else about it i love, but the amount of times the game has crashed and erased hours of progress through lack of a simple feature just kills it for me.

I'll be honest, I was kind of expecting a game where you get a completely disassembled thing and you have to re assemble it.

It wasn't this game.
However, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a quaint and cozy little game, easily completable in less that 2 hours (that doesn't mean you should play it and refund it you naughty sausage) and overall it looks beautiful too.

This game has an infamous reputation for being hard and unfair

these are not entirely true so here's a few things you'll want to know before you start playing:

1) this game is very challenging. firm, but fair. You will learn patience and you will learn to never give up

2) there is no shame in dying. You didn't fail, you died. The game is designed to kill you. then, you get back up and do better. so long as you take breaks and never stop trying, you too will git gud

3) if the first area you try to go is the place with the skeletons; you're in the wrong place, go back to firelink bonfire and re-evaluate your circumstances.

All I can say is this is the perfect game for ANY history nut like me out there. I@ve only played for 4 hours and I am so ecxited to play more. So far, everything is perfect. This game is so immersive, I can very easily see it rocketing to the number one spot of my all time favourite games list. I can also see myself replaying this game when I finish it (Probably when I upgrade my system so I can turn all the graphics to max since I'm literally playing on a laptop rn)

Bonus 1: my name is Henry so having the main character who shares my name is absolutely awesome. Accidental immersion to the max.

So far, all I can say is that this is one of the best strategy games that I've played in a while. And I've played a lot of strategy games in my time.

Not to mention the fact that this game is still in early access, with much more to come. So I'm sure that this game will go down as one of the greats. Personally, I am looking forwards to the campaign mode to come.

In conclusion, this is definitely worth the £24.99 that I paid. And I think it's absolutely worth your time.
