Heroes die all the time in the genre, maybe engage with something in the comic universe that isn't a Hollywood production, losers.

Folks, your game of the year.

So much of this game is so refreshing. This game features a home base system to launch missions from, which becomes a larger space as you explore the abbey grounds. The cosmetics, mostly actually decent recolors, in this game are unlockable through the games main currency you earn from missions, Gloss. The season pass comes with two additional skins for each character, each with 4 earnable recolors, or a skin could be bought separately for about 3 bucks, if you wanted to not buy the pass. Though the first two DLC have been really great, narratively and mechanically.

With so many different characters with conflicting origins, personalities and interests, Midnight Suns is able to write each them into harmony and cooperation within the team. No matter which character you become drawn to, their story will become more and more built out the more you spend time with them (increase your friendship level). One of the only critiques I can give is in some of the conversation shots the animations for the characters talking is pretty minimum, the cut scenes however have great motion capture so it is a minor one. Hunter's VA is phoning it in often, but the other character's performances more than steal the show anyway.

The tactical deck building turn based combat becomes increasingly more in depth across the first 5-10 hours, and then can scale from difficulty modes from Story(easy) to Ultimate 3(Hard af). I found the combat to be more and more satisfying as you get a hang of the games design and crafting system to get better cards, upgrade friendship level and earn Gloss to keep everything with a fresh look.

Overall if you love rpgs with good character design, dialogue or story, if you enjoy marvel characters from almost any universe, or if you love tactical turn based games I highly recommend this game. Maybe even if you don't like those, this game is so well put together that it might turn you into a vessel for Lilith too ^.^
