I definitely didn't hate this game, but compared to the original, it was decidedly lackluster and lacked the haunting, sanity-shattering aspects of The Dark Descent. I liked the concept, but the whole thing just felt like a watered down, pale shadow of the original, especially with many of the fun, interactive features taken out entirely. You can't pick up many things, there is no emphasis on light (in fact, your lantern has infinite fuel), no sanity, no inventory, and nothing really happens to challenge one's mind, neither with puzzles nor characters.

It's worth playing for free, or maybe a few dollars, but watching a no commetary Let's Play would do just the same. Overall, A Machine For Pigs was disappointing. Not a terrible effort, but far from good.

The amount of fun I had with this game is almost criminal, and I only played the Alpha! The music is nothing short of entrancing. This game fully deserves your time, support, and finances.
