As a consequence people who like The Last Jedi truly ARE idiots- of course they would appreciate, for instance, the misery in Rose's awful catchphrase “We're going to win this war not by fighting what we hate, but saving what we love!,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons.
