A real shame the PvE didn't work out. Still pretty fun multiplayer though

Great strategy game with a fantastic collections of workshop mods to go along with it. Being able to have a squad of ODSTs as my A-Team really added to the experience.

In total, I've put about 1500 hours into Destiny 1 and 2 over the past 5 years. Despite the game's rocky history, it's been getting better year after year and now with Activision out of the picture, I expect that trend to continue.

What is there to say about Destiny? Well, it's got amazing gun play. That should be evident to anyone who's heard of the game. But more than that, it has something for everyone. Want to have a mindless bit of fun shooting bad guys and getting loot? Go check out the Menagerie. How about a coordinated team activity with amazing aesthetics and engaging mechanics? Go check out one of the many raids. Want to have some PvP fun casual setting? Dive into the cesspool that is the crucible. Do you want a ball breakingly difficult 3 man PvE activity? Limp your way through a master nightfall and get some consistently good rewards for you troubles. Itching to get your sweat on in PvP? Check out comp. You get the idea, it's got something for any mood.

On top of the variety of activities, there's genuinely desirable rewards for beating the game's hardest activities, promoting mastery and efficiency. Whether it's ascendant shards from a master nightfall, letting you get the most out of your gear or the overpowered pinnacle weapons, there's always something to work towards. The mastery portion comes in the form of titles. Titles are your reward for mastering content and making sure everyone knows about it. I, personally, refuse to take off my Rivensbane title since I see it as one of my crowning achievements within the game.

Destiny is far from perfect. Eververse could use some work, the gear pool need a refresh, and crucible could use some serious tuning (I'm looking at you, OEM wearing, mountaintop-recluse spamming trash pile). But as far as shooters go, Destiny is definitely the best for variety, support, community, and overall feel. If you're looking for a new game to dig into, Destiny will fill that role for hundreds, maybe even thousands of hours.
