There are really only three things that can happen when you start up the game:
Option 1:
Start game and close it 5 min after cause the ottomans decided it's a good idea to declare war on you.

Option 2:
Be the ottomans.

Option 3:
Play a country far away from the ottomans and wait for another conqueror to destroy you.

I get unplayable Fps even so I got higher specs then the given minimum specs for this game.
Can't even play with 30+ Fps at any time with everything turned down and on 720p.

Smart move by the developer to make Episode 1 free to play.

It was so interesting and emotional that I got out the next day after finishing Episode 1 to buy the Limited Edition, and i'm pretty sure that Episode 2-5 will not disappoint me.

And the usual stuff:

The story is great, the atmosphere is awesome and the graphic fits the game.


Update:

Finished the game now; it gets better every Episode.

I mean you can try it out because it's free, but imo the story got not too much to it and it's rather boring to play.
But at least they don't charge money for a short game like this.

Best game to play with friends and to meet new friends. (even if second is pretty hard because there are a lot of toxic players)

But now to the actual review:

Rust is a PVP heavy survival game, with no real rules to the game. You can build a massive base a tiny shack, raid other people kill them or just live a peaceful hermit life. (actualy you can't do the last unless you are playing on an empty server, which would not be the point of the game anyways).
At the moment there are monthly map wipes forced by the developer; every so often also blueprint wipes, which can be depressing at some points but at the same time also quite challenging.
From the performance I think the game is well enough optimised to play it without bigger issues, of course there can be bugs and performance dips because of its Early Access stage.

I'd say overall Rust is a pretty good game to play together with some friends. If you're thinking about playing it alone forget that idea an search for some mates to play with. If you can pick it up for a good price I say; do it. I had a great time playing it so far, but keep in mind that Rust is a pretty time consuming game.

I don't really understand some of the negative reviews; yes there is not much to the game you just need to press buttons in the right order (I got no problems with the controls, they work like they are supposed to work) but this is challeging enough to keep you playing for at least a little while.

That said I would still not pay the full price for it because this is as I said before "just" a game where you are supposed to press buttons in the right order. But if you buy a key for a few cents then you will most likely not regret it.
