2 months, 4 patches, hundreds of mods later, and this game is still not ready. It's an unstable mess and it's gameplay loop is incredibly boring. The main story is just one long fetch-quest with points of character development, and although the side quests are far more interesting and engaging, you will still run into the same loop of fetch-quest after fetch-quest with certain ones.

It almost feels like the unrealistic ambitions of a lead designer, who has publicly stated that this is the game that he's dreamed of making, were shoehorned into an engine that wasn't built for this expanse and would have been a FAR more cohesive experience if it was scaled down.

What is the point of procedurally generating entire planets if your points of interest are going to be 5-10 minutes away? What's the point of placing your colonies on different planets if you simply intend for players to travel there once and then fast travel there the rest of the game?

At launch people wrote off the jank and loading screens as "Bethesda Design" but after putting a good amount of time into this, it's certainly the result of an overambitious director, overpromising, undercompromising and his team being forced to fit a square peg in a round hole. And now every planet is just one big skyrim cave with a tenth of the content.
