Welcome.

Sound engineer, foley artist and modifier of game files (creatively). A gaming latency freak on steroids with an unhealthy penchant for frags.

SOFTWARE MODIFICATION / CONFIGURATIONS
MOUSE
ENDGAME OP1 8KHZ - This German origin hypermouse has some of the best click latency (Kalith) switches (and is interchangeable!) and sensor motion and is wonderfully suited for medium-small hands. Can be modded as well, improving longevity.

Modified with a "Mighty Mouse" body, a 3D-printed, extremely lightweight "skeleton" mouse shell, fitted with a Lethal Gaming cable to further reduce it to barely noticeable drag.

Configuration of the Mouse:
Pollrate: 8khz, dpi: 20,000 (3 stages of dpi for different games, 6400;20000) to account for sensitivity capping. Lift Off is 2mm, there is no RGB for the OP1 8KHZ. I use GX Speed Mode due to its extremely low click/debounce latency. Windows Mouse Sensitivity is 6/11 and has MarkC's fix applied to 1:1 the acceleration curve (for older games that force Windows Acceleration, i.e Enhance Pointer Precison).

FEET: XRayPad Jade Dot Feet Skates are applied to the previously removed skates of a Endgame OP1 8Khz, this gives a feeling of greater tracking and provides tactile, smooth feedback.

PAD: Skypad 2.0 XL A glass mouse pad. Makes flick shots look like the speed of light and glides like a lighting cloud (coincidentally the logo is just that). A polyester "gaming" sleeve (without glove) is worn to reduce co-efficient of friction and improve control during sweaty bouts or warmer weather. It helps reduce re-tracking and sticking to the mouse pad (which can cause inaccuracies and "stutter-tracking".
KEYBOARD DEVICES
WOOTING 2 60HE with Jade Switches on a separate USB to avoid hitching OP1 8KHZ - Wooting 60HE [wooting.io]I use Snappy Tappy to introduce null movement to SP games with digital only (allowing for some insanely good positioning). Analogue is generally used for games that support it. I generally turn these off for multiplayer as they can provide a very serious benefit in tactical games to the point they can be seen as hardware cheating.

TASTE, PERSONALITY & POTENTIAL ARGUMENTS
A competitive but fun person. Likes modding his hardware and software.

I am remastering the audio or finding the origins of soundtracks and samples of games, even ones that are console exclusive (like Twisted Metal and the profile background). In fact, a surprise for Half Life fans is on its way, in lieu of the 25/20th anniversaries of HL1/HL2.

INPUT AND LATENCY
I favour lowest latency input for reasons of precision, immersion, ease of control and find new techniques. Analogue (and/or digital) movement uses SOCD (null input binds) to refine movement control. My system turns off virtualization, all e-cores, power saving and anything related to interrupt controlling/steering.

My monitor is set directly to 240.000 HZ, for reasons of actually wanting the accuracy of the refresh rate and not 239 hz (which effects motion persistence, i.e tearing/judder). I use Custom Resolution Utility to achieve this.

I do not chat in most games because I am more focused on the game and as a result have unbinded chat commands (these are used for gameplay instead). Use external communication methods if possible. Mumble/Team speak, Steam Overlay/IRC/Socials. I have high quality means of VOIP microphone usage due to being a hobbyist of sound design.

More for more?

My Windows 11 installation is heavily debloated of any bloatware and uses a custom resolution timer of 0.5070ms to ensure improved interrupt resolution. This uses more power but enhances input and sometimes frame-pacing. It can however worsen it in some cases.

SCEWIN (a BIOS modification tool from MSI) tool to analyse "hidden" UEFI settings. It is also used to disable power-saving and any other settings that may present problems with input latency or simply wanting knowledge. I do not recommend it as it is very risky to flash a BIOS' NVRAM with settings that could brick or damage it but it is however great for understanding your motherboard and it's hidden settings. Somethings like Interrupt Control are turned off as is virtual mapping. If you are using it, some settings may stick and require resetting so be sure you have a CLEAR CMOS button on your motherboard

Games that dont implement performance-hindering APIs or "DRM" are also not worth my time (Denuvo, old CD DRMs). I never understood why a game hinders its own customers hardware performances but pirates get free reign. Though admittedly, some of the time I do pirate very old games (usually singleplayer).

Games of extremely poor maintenance and risk-adverse possibility of malware injection, spyware and remote execution methods (RCEs) are not installed - such as unpatched versions of Modern Warfare 1/2/3 will get your system pwn'd pretty fast. Games with "rootkit" level anticheat are not installed.

Source ports are used if they are higher quality than the original engine itself. Example of this is Quake with Quakespasm/Spearmint or Xash3D FWGS for Half Life/Gold Source games. Xash3D in particular allows high quality audio, expect something this week.
