Just good. I don't care about the DEI ♥♥♥♥, or the political ♥♥♥♥. I just think the game is good. Is it the best? Nah. Do I love Wukong? Yes. So, it's the best Souls-like I've played, and I'm considering the main-like Dark Souls/Elden Ring in that too. I've not finished but the story has intrigued me enough to want to write this. I'll edit it if it changes after I've beaten it.

Good clean game. Some minor FPS issues, but nothing game-breaking. I'd say if you like open-world RPG games with a nostalgic Harry Potter vibe, buy it immediately. If you hate games like Far Cry or any of the other open-world games like this, avoid it. It's very fun but not everything in it would appeal to everyone.

I found a good post on the forums explaining all the issues with the game. MTX added on release, while they removed parts of their FAQ that explained in-game premium currency could be earned through playing. FOMO and scummy practices used in their micro transactions, and they released a statement saying they forgot to add a bundle for the in-game currency that made it to where you can spend money 1:1 for the premium currency, which MAKES NO SENSE. They released the premium shop with in-game currency that cannot be bought and divided evenly into items, it's VERY deliberate. If they change it now, it's due to this backlash. If this all changes, I'll add a positive back.

"-Disconnection Issues for people from certain countries as I believe it's related to timeouts from high ping since the game runs exclusively on dedicated servers.

-Microtransaction shop has FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) by putting cosmetics on rotations
-Microtransaction currency has you buy more then you need to get any given item
-No option for Private Lobbies
-Weeklies and Penances still do not Track in some missions
-Cosmetics are stolen form you when you unequip them for some classes
-Long ass loading times.
-Can't rebind the inventory key in hub.
-Disconnects.
-Melee feels floatier than vermintide.
-Can't solo queue / play offline.
-They didn't bother to release with the bare minimum amount of classes that Vermintide 2 released with.
-They didn't bother to release with a complete story.
-They didn't bother to release with all the weapons that were promised.
-They didn't bother to release with good optimisation/performance.
-They didn't bother to finish the crafting system before release.
-They didn't bother to fix the connection or gameplay bugs.
-They didn't bother to keep in basic QoL features that the previous games had.
-They didn't bother to meet the content goals they said the game would release with.
-They did however make a digital currency, an ingame digital currency shop, a main hub were people can display their bought skins to other players.
-They have been iterating on the same game for years now and it's getting worse. Copy of a copy of a copy of l4d coop. It's been 15 years and the only real improvement from then to now is graphics."

This is a yes if you just wanna play a fun roguelike and do not want to play it competitively. If you wanna play it competitively you have to join the Discord and reset your runs after round 5-7 if you don't get the right mutations/upgrades. If you don't do that, you will not be able to win in your division. If you do win, it gets boring because there is no competition and you're stuck in the lowest division until a new season starts which if you were top 50% in your division, you go up ONE division no matter your placement in that division. I played in Greenhorn for a month and I was so bored 'cause all there was to do was beat my own team 'cause I was 1st.

The game is very fun when you can get past the controls. Full controller support would have helped, if controllers work use that for your controls. Shooting a star and dashing and later on doing that while trying to move and AIM with just the WASD keys, (yes you aim and move with WASD at the same time, it's quite annoying) but the controls are only a small gripe in a very nice story with a cool concept which is using your Desktop/PC to do some things. While I wish there was more fun concepts being used with my computer, I get why there wasn't. The clicking section near the end with the popups was very fun and I wanted more of that after I got it. Overall though, this is a fun game that might make you cry. My Lumi must be somewhere looking after all the beta cucks.

Story is good sometimes, not all the time. It is very cliche and some of the voice acting is a bit off--or weird. I get what they were going for, I got invested in multiple people's lives... Especially when calling for a certain elevator and the surprise inside. I was so upset I googled outcomes to see if I could change anything--spoiler, you can't. Sucks, but it's cool. There were options you didn't even have to do as well. Returning an item to someone who said you could sell it, it felt nice and was not necessary but fleshed out the idea of my "Aiden."

Gameplay is fun if you are into melee, if you aren't into pure melee with a bow option 10 hours in... Then don't play this if you're expecting DL1 assault rifles.

The game is a glitchy mess, and some people might say that's some sort of complaint that follow the lines of 2077 and other things... I disagree, this is just as glitchy as Skyrim is, and games are so complicated now that glitches are prone to happen. Don't get me wrong, I have soft-locked on countless missions due to prompts just not showing up to complete it, but... It didn't hamper my mood because I enjoyed the progression system and the story.

PVE + PVP, PVP is jarring after the game makes you feel like PVE is the main concept. Respawning if your team is still alive... is dumb. It promotes horrible ways to play, and not fun mechanics in firefights.

Good game, perfect pacing for progression, and fun interesting new things. Building is hard but in a good accomplishing way.

EDIT: After playing a bit more and seeing the pain that is this game, I have to say that I don't agree it's worth $20. The game is fun, yes, and it CAN be good, but right now? No. It's not even the server issues either, that's whatever. I don't like how I can't consistently play a game and it's dumb that it's come down to "This is how games are now," I digress though.

The issue of this game for me and what seems like a lot of people are: team games. There are two good team games, no more no less. Team Tail Grab? That was dumb, I could hold on to my tail for the entirety of the start to finish but because of the RNG of everyone else and their skill levels I get eliminated?

There is also the issue of the match game, and the slime run. They are unbalanced and even though I like the slime run, it could/would be much more fun if it was legit a last round thing, first person to make it wins. No crown grab, nothing. That game mode has ended with almost no one winning, I've seen videos of only 6 people making it and it was the third/second round.

Last issue is the fact that the game is stuck on a 4 player squad, in a 60 man game. I understand the aspect of BRs being 4-mans and that's usually the idea, but why is 4 the max in this one? Could you not do 10, or something much more streamer friendly? Make custom games, allow us to make smaller games and editing what minigames are in it, you'd create an actual community and not just a one-off game that everyone is gonna play for a few weeks and then you fall into obscurity again.

Edit #2: The game has added things I asked for, but the overall idea of the squad complaint became worse. They added game modes where you have to work accurately as a team, and I was forced into these in duo games, or if I queue up as squads as a solo or 2-man we have a hard time getting the two children to do anything other than jump around screwing us up. I don't enjoy the game when they have these dumb ideas that squads should work as a big group to get further into the rounds. Or when I'm duo with a friend and we lose 'cause we got RNG'd the bad team in a 10vs10 mode. Just not fun when you try and make this a thing you play with friends every week.
