I'd love to recommend this. The core game is mostly great, besides some of the more grindy live service elements.

However, lets be honest, the bait and switch PSN requirement is ridiculous. Not only did it screw over much of the game's playerbase in other countries where they legally cannot use PSN (despite being able to purchase and play the game prior) but it's also just completely unnecessary even beyond that.
Here's hoping Sony reverses course in this.

After nearly 2500 hours of playtime in Neos, it's time we put it to bed.

Since late 2019 I have made so, so, so many memories in this platform. It's truly changed my life, for the better - I've made so many wonderful friends through it, it's helped me grow as an individual, it's helped me learn and experience so much.
And yet, I have to say, I cannot recommend it.
Not for any faults of the actual platform itself, but of the leadership causing the downfall of one of the most promising social collaborative world building, programming, and game design platforms I've ever seen.

Many other reviews have gone into the troubles and tribulations that have befallen this wonderful platform, and can go into detail far better than I can. Just know that this was a place filled with one of the most wonderful communities I've ever seen.

Please go check out Resonite, it carries on the torch of Neos in so many ways.

A fantastic little adventure, reminiscent of Lucasarts and Sierra classics, while still being accessible for newbies and experienced players of point-n-click adventures alike.

The art was, of course, absolutely lovely throughout - props to the animations in particular, they add a lot to the game world. The soundtrack, too, was basically perfect - feeling like an 'enhanced' CD soundtrack for a Lucasarts game, complete with goofy animation matched little musical stings for in-game events.
The writing, of course, is also quite good, with a fair few laughs to be had. Occasional grammatical errors show up throughout, but it doesn't detract from the game at all, in my experience.

I'm not the best at reviews - all I can really say is that this was a very fun time, and I highly recommend picking it up when you can, if this kind of thing appeals to you!

It's more Outer Wilds.

There's more to explore here.

Probably some of the better $13 I've spent in a long while.
This is a pretty incredible arcade-action title with an absolutely bopping soundtrack.
Of course, I've been a Wolfgun fan for many years so I MAY be a little bit biased.

PLEASE try out the demo, the gameplay elements can be rather hard to parse just by looking at it, but it is quite an experience when you play it yourself - it flows so good.

[Ignore hrs played at time of review, I've owned this game on EGS for 8 months or so]

Yes, you should play this game.

The Masterpiece tag for this game, IMO, is very well deserved. This is easily my GOTY of 2019 and probably one of my favorite games of all time, if not my favorite. It's stuck with me in a way very few games have in the past few years, and that's pretty significant. Between the soundtrack, gameplay, and story, this is an experience I've found matches almost nothing else out there.

I'm not great at actual in-depth reviews, but I will just say a few things, trying to avoid spoilers.
- This isn't Outer Worlds. This is not an extremely action-packed title, but that's not to say there isn't any excitement...
- This game doesn't hold your hand - It's a bit aimless at first. Stick with it, just follow the clues. Use your ship computer.
- There's no real 'progression' per-se. This game's progress is based on your learned knowledge about the game world.
- This is a slow-burning kind of title. Take your time, explore every nook and cranny.
- Do yourself a favor, and try to avoid looking up any guides on completion. Ask for help in the wonderful subreddit (/r/outerwilds) or the unofficial Discord group if you must. This game is certainly about the journey and not just the destination.
- Don't be afraid of making mistakes.

Probably the best sense of presence I've felt in a VR game yet. If you can stomach the smooth locomotion and occasional physics jank, this game is an amazing experience that will make you excited for the future of VR.
Story is so-so, but it's really the gameplay that shines. Solid shooting mechanics, fun physics-based movement, pretty amazing atmosphere throughout the game, and tons of replayability to be had, alongside pretty expansive arena and sandbox modes.

Can't wait for future updates and hopefully DLC.

Yep, this is Descent.

The physics, the art design, the sound design, the gameplay - it's all on point. This truly IS the proper successor to Descent.

I haven't had this much fun with a 6DoF game since Sublevel Zero, truly. Before that, the crown belonged to Descent 3. This tops them all, by far. And this is even in Early Access. The game already feels quite polished despite the lack of content, and is definitely a ride - especially in VR.

Whether you're a veteran to the genre or a newcomer, I very highly recommend picking this one up.
