Steam only has 20 hours on record.. but I played quite a bit more on another account previously. It's a really tough one to review because the game-play itself is amazing, but for more reasons which I'll explain, I'm still not going to recommend this for people who wants equal playing grounds. I know a lot of people will disagree but that's probably because they are benefiting off these issues..

The skill system is awesome and doesn't give you this huge "grindfest" anxiety that can cause a lot of new players to quite an MMO when they already have other games with this sort of demand. Instead the game is more geared towards production and exploration. Which involved PvE, PvP (depending on which area of the world you are situated). The classless character system is really well done and the ability to kind of do what you want in that regard is almost endless, given the items available.

I played this game for so long because it really gives you the freedom to be a lonewolf farmer who simply runs to the market to invest in his trade (I know many wouldn't play this way, just saying it's possible) all the way to becoming a well respected guild member who participates in battles for territory. The things you can do in the game are awesome.

The PvP doesn't ruin late-game for lone players either because there is plenty of escape-centered builds that'll keep you safe if you're keeping an eye open for player killers.

BUT..

This is why I no longer play Albion Online, or at least not regularly... The currency system really exploits basic psychology of video game players and adds an element of P2W that doesn't really break the gameplay, but it still gives paying players a bonus that is unfair to those who choose to stick to free to play only.. its not difficult to get ahead and it's barely a grind to get most items people buy in-game currency for to just cheese on the market... but it's still an unbalanced system when players who pay have to put in less effort than free users and the bonuses may seem insignificant but on a large scale, someone of premium status can get almost 200-300 bonus in any resource for every 1000(if i remember correctly) that the free player gets... That adds up.

If they added a server that hosted no payed currency and only cosmetic options as a source of income, with the choice of joining the premium currency servers.. then I would say Albion Online is 10/10.. but the paid money system drags it right down...

It's free though, so who really gets to complain? It's a great game, but it's undeniably pay2win when it provides valuable(in game currency value, ex:resources) benefits to paying members in a server where paying and non-paying member coexist. Separate the two and it would be much more fair.

I can't recommend this game enough. This is the first time I've played through an entire puzzle game.. (though I still haven't finished the bonus chapter after the credits)..

The game is so unique to any other puzzler I've tried (other than any other Zachtronics title), it's difficult, but not to the point where it feels boring to try and solve. Saying this specifically for people with a short attention-span. You won't look at what's ask of you and think "I don't fell like doing this".. You're instantly running through ways you can approach the problem in and it wouldn't surprise me if doing so could actually benefit someones logical thinking skills.

Incredible brain teaser and slowly became the reason I support Zachronics.. (Bought SpaceChem and Shenzen I/O within the same week) They really have a perfect recipe for, as they call them.. Design-Based Puzzle games. 10/10

I have a real problem getting into new games and often buy them just to end up playing for 45 minutes, only to buy another to feed the loop. I also had a huge bias against 2D games. Factorio solved both of these problems. The first session I played was almost 18 hours strait. Almost problematic! No game has peaked my interest in such a way with its incredibly in-depth crafting system that IMO, will never bore you. It's a dream for people who enjoy watching large scale progression in their game-play and it's even better for someone who needs replay value. You're constantly challenged to optimise and better your design, it makes planning and calculation fun. The mods alone make this game almost impossible to fully explore.. (In a good way/Lots of content)... without dedicating a ridiculous amount of time to it..

One of the best games I've ever played, and I have a bias with 2d games, so this one really is golden. If you're the type who thinks The Joker is cooler than Batman, I guarantee you will love this game.
