Terraria, for me, was just like Minecraft was to a lot of people, a fun new experience where I could do whatever I wanted, all in a neat little 2D client. One of the only flaws with the base game is that it gets repetitive after a while. However, the modding community for Terraria is insane, making the replayability value skyrocket. Do you want more cool and fun content separate from the base game? Calamity. Thorium, and Stars Above have got you. Want to play something completely different? Overhaul and RPG Classes are there for you. Need some more quality of life features? There's Magic Storage, Wing Slot, Recipe Browser, and so, so much more. Asides from the mods, you've also got really cool workshop capabilities, with the likes of texture packs, and also a great community and player base. Overall, the Terraria experience has been a blast, and is placed firmly into my top 3 games of all time.
