Early Access Review
Steam sale time. Friends turn to pick a game to play. We gave this a shot and at first it was like ok, these graphics dont look good, and idk if im going to like it. Boy was i WRONG. This game is incredibly fun. There is a pretty diverse set of classes and group comp and button pushing feel great. From the looks of things and asking around in their discord there is work being done constantly and a for sure roadmap. While the graphics made me go meh at first, I cant cry about it because ive played prettier games that sucked way too much for 60$. Dude did a great job working on it, im honestly shocked that ive had this much fun for 5 bucks.

So going into this you gotta know this game is old. Its from a long lost era of games people forgot about. If you can get past the patcher in one piece, handle the lack of information on a google search, and want to have fun building toons this might be a game you will enjoy.

Pros
-Lack of information so you are left winging it
-Character creation is huge
-Story and Lore is pretty top notch if you are into d&d at all
-Music is decent considering the age
-Combat is decent
-You get a voice over for the DM which is sick. I think this is 100% why I have even played it this much so far.
-You can hire a guy to help you out so your solo play isnt that terrible
-in game voice chat (i think this is a pro? Idk who doesnt just use discord or something at this point though)
-in game currency for cash shop gained from playing
-While max level is lower than most mmorpgs ive played, there are tons of things to do for replay value.
-There are things to do past max level. Monster manuals, reaper levels, etc.
-Named farming for drops.
-Account bound items for alt and or starting your characters level over for some stat perks.

Cons (some of these are just limited to the age of the game and not really a deal breaker for me personally)
-The player base is pretty small
-Cost for expansions and the in game shop is a bit of a stretch
-There is so many things that have zero info you just get to figure out
-UI
-Horses and animations
-armor
-Subscription perks are pretty meh when comparing costs of products and in game cash shop prices
-shard exchange
-Dungeon loot/limit per week
-Daily dice for playing/rewards just are meh even as a bonus free thing why even waste resources on this
-The mercs you hire to assist you take up bag space and do not stack. They have to be bought in hour increments and each one is its own bag spot. Luckily with money I can expand it!~

Having a blast giving this game a shot. Class structure is pretty easy. I guess this most recent update simplified things, not sure because I didn't play before it. Its been a real breeze jamming the quests, leveling doesn't take that long. All in all its a nice change of pace from other mmos. Combat is pretty chill, its a little more light weight on the brain and button mashing. Graphics are dated a bit, cut scenes may make you laugh. If you can handle that the story is awesome. If you played any d and d some of it should be familiar, which is fun. Upgrading items is kind of a rng time sink, which can be expected in most of these types of games. Enhancing items is kinda slow. Its also tough to find reliable up to date information about this game anywhere. If you like not being able to google the right answers, this may be for you.

The cash shop does come into play here. The bag space in this game is literally the worst thing Ive ever seen in a game that's f2p. Aside from a few things that can add some quality of life, you don't need to spend much if anything as long as you are willing to play the game. They have some items that can make things happen now vs later. You can also exchange in game currency from the cash shop for the market currency speeding up some acquisition of items for your character.

I only had one negative issue to comment on and that is the really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ customer service this game has for problems when you spend money in game. Be ready to eat whatever you did, your fault or not, because they wont help you no matter how much you try or how nice you are or how much you drop.
