This game is like the Mike Force game mode from the S.O.G. Prairie Fire Arma III DLC, but single player and with some improvements, like having a good progression system. This is now my favorite Vietnam game, beating out the one I mentioned above, and it's honestly the Vietnam game I've always dreamed of. This is very much an early access game, so there are certainly a good few bugs, but I've only run into one so far that was game breaking and made me crash to the desktop - the rest have just been minor annoyances like the helicopter radio cutting out after playing for a few hours. I'd recommend this game in its current state - many of the worst issues have already been fixed - but when the developer fixes all of the bugs and adds more content, this game will be even better. If there was a co-op mode, I wouldn't have any reason to play Arma III anymore.

I spent hours putting together the pieces to prove that an HR Manager had killed his employee over sub-par performance, and to celebrate my success I had a bottle of whiskey and a piece of raw chicken, which had me throwing up in a dumpster and stumbling back to my basement apartment where I slept off the alcohol and did it all over again the next morning with a hangover. 10/10

By far the most fun I've ever had playing Arma 3

FromSoft somehow managed to make a game that is at the same time the most accessible game in the series while also being the best game in the series (I know, it's not really a part of any real "series," but you get what I mean). This game really has something for everyone and I would recommend it to anyone. My one slight critique of the game so far is the fact that they direct you straight towards the northwest when it would probably be better for new players to go to the east and southeast, but you'll figure out where to go on your own just by exploring the world.

A great game that is a shining example of what the colony sim genre can be at its best. This is a very ambitious project, made all the more impressive by the fact that it is made by one skilled developer devoted to his vision of the ideal game at a level I haven't seen for any game other than Dwarf Fortress. The main difference between Jake (this game's developer) and Tarn and Zach Adams (Dwarf Fortress's developers) is that I expect this game to actually reach a state where the vision is accomplished. If you are a fan of the genre, try this game out, you won't regret it (the demo is the full game with no restrictions, just on a previous update, so there's really no monetary risk involved in trying it out).

Good game with an insane amount of DLC, some of which you should get on sale and others which you can completely ignore. If you get bored of trying to conquer the world as an Irish minor, you can always install the Elder Scrolls mod and enforce Dunmer supremacy.

This is giving me major persona vibes.

Original Review: I like what I've been able to play, but the constant crashing makes it hard to recommend.

Edited as of March 28, 2021: Paradox has fixed the crashing on the Windows version in updates since my original review, but I still experience frequent crashes when I use my Mac. I would now recommend the game as long as you only care about playing on systems running Windows.

This game is the Dark Souls of Skyrim.
