A masterclass in fear, this game is a take on Phasmophobia that actually managed to pull me away from the iconic Ghost Hunting game onto this one. The game still uses a lot of the same uneasy-environment techniques that have you uncomfortable the whole time, with a lot more unpredictability added in to stop the game being too routine.

And Jump scares.

But these aren't your cheap overdone JPEG jump scares, but careful, well thought-out jump scares with enough rarity in their occurrences that just when you start to feel safe BAM, hospital gurney chases you down the halls. There are a number of spooky interactions, with jump scares or ghostly happenings being linked to one of the following:

- Drops in Sanity
- Randomly Happening
- Entering a specific area
- Looking at something too long
- Saying a specific word
- Death

With all of these triggers happening, although you know there are some jump scares, you're never sure when they're going to come, so this keeps you delightfully easy while you perform standard ghost-hunting faire.

Pros:

- The game gives you enough items for 2 people to complete a hunt without adding anything, so easy to bring a friend and show them around
- With the different ghosts, there is replay-ability
- The variance in events is wide enough it takes a long time before it even begins to feel samey
- Maps added reasonably regularly
- High levels of customisation, spend your money on a house, a cat and clothes to make your hunter unique
- Creative approaches to exorcising ghosts differs from map to map

Cons:

- Surviving the ghost is quite hard
- Items are very expensive compared to what you earn
- Sometimes you just 'get ♥♥♥♥♥♥'
- ESG evidence, y'all will learn

That said, I love this game, and actively enjoy playing it with friends. If you have at least one other friend to play this with, you simply must give it a try.

Without getting caught up in the overwhelming hype, It's... alright.

The game lacks the absolute variance of its predecessors, but comparatively it's still an exceptionally open game. Scope and ambition shine through the game in ample measure, but that often leads to a number of situations where the game feels rough around the edges. Amelia Tyler does a fantastic job as your narrator and speaking to you in a kind of, disapproving mother way.

Baldur's Gate 3 is not perfect, when putting aside the hype and initial excitement, there are plenty of flaws that stop it being a guaranteed must have, and there's no shame in people saying it's not for them.

With that said, this game is fun, the writing is entertaining for a couple of playthroughs, and of course the ability to play with friends makes for some great and chaotic scenarios. The overall design starts great but showly shrinks to become more stifling as the playthrough progresses.

If you have a group of friends to play this with, I highly recommend it.
If you just want to play an RPG that leans more into the TTRPG elements than the JRPG elements, I highly recommend it.
If you just want to die in a bunch of weird inexplicable ways, I highly recommend it.
If you want to collect some fair achievements while on an adventure, I highly recommend it.
If you want to engage with writing that has a sense of humour, I highly recommend it.
If you're that guy who "likes" the narrator voice, I highly recommend it.

If you're looking for a perfect, flawless, bugless, glitchless, clipless game without faults, then you should look elsewhere, this ain't it.

Gnosia is an unbelievably fun Visual Novel style game about surviving on a ship with Gnosia infectees using a Werewolf-style mechanic. The crew must find the Gnosia, the Gnosia must eliminate the crew with each phase taking the shape of 5 conversation-type interactions and then a vote. You can defend allies, call out enemies or even betray your collaborators.

Each of the Crew have their own personality and discussion style, be it Raqio's purely logical approach, Yuriko's ruthlessness or Shigemichi being... well... Shigemichi. Meaning you have to truly know and understand the characters you're on the ship with to be able to read them for deception.

There is story, with a wide variety of loop endings depending on both what roles you had, who survived and what actions you took, with plenty to do to unlock the mystery of the characters within.

The art style is nice, characters are visually distinct and whilst I could've done without Comet's underboob, it really isn't a focus of the game.

Gnosia is exceptionally fun and really rather well made. The achievements are also not obnoxious, and I personally had a lot of fun with this.

I don't usually review mobile games, but it can't be understated how much it's easy to lose yourself in this game. A deep story does surround typical time-based play restrictions, and yet it's far from frustrating for ProjectMoon embrace you in some of the best, most enjoyable music out there in any title, not just mobile games.

The game itself is fun, and does possess some depth, character design is alluring and each individual identity comes with its own story for you to embark upon.

It's a great experience.

Lastly, don't be afraid of the season pass. It's the most generous season pass I think I've ever seen, with active players completing it with like 90 days remaining. They're practically giving that stuff away for free.

Exceptionally fun Looter-Shooter kind of game that poses some very interesting challenges. The game is colourful, bright and draws some obvious inspirations from other titles in the genre, but I find that the wide array of characters, and the diverse builds that exist for each character lend themselves well to replay-ability.

The game is fun, better enjoyed with friends, but a more than adequate challenge alone. Achievement hunters can take heart there's nothing in this title that's unfair, or a particularly tedious grind, hunting achievements will be fun and take you across a variety of the experiences the game offers.

Good design throughout leaves this game to be worth picking up, especially if you catch it on a sale.

The Origins of Wololo, remastered.

It's a good game, whilst I never personally liked Age of Empires over Age of Empires 2, this is a solid remaster, it's fun and enjoyable to play with both modern and traditional setups.

A pleasant strategy game with soothing music. Really worth having if you like other AoE titles.

This is a beautiful game with a charming style that's sure to get your heart pumping and the "Awws" coming out of your mouth, shortly before being sacrificed to some monstrosity.

You assume the role of the sweetest and most adorable little lamb, who then becomes a mindbendy combination of adorable and outright terrifying as you begin a cult all your own, pledging to an unknown deity. There is a lot to love about Cult of the Lamb, the art style is fantastic, the soundtrack iconic and emotive and the combat? So incredibly satisfying.

The game rewards good play, without punishing unskilled players by making itself impossible to beat.

This game has love pouring out of every facet, and so for the price you can pick this game up for, I can't think of a single reason why you wouldn't want this Cultist-Sim/Dungeon Crawler title in your game list. It's so enjoyable!

Tap Tappity Tap Tap Tap.

A good game, with a charming Aesthetic and enjoyable music. The sound effects can get a little grating by the time you hit the 150 hour mark, but they can be turned off.

The game's achievements are inoffensive too.

It's an Idle Game, and It's fun. That is all!

What can I say about this game to make you want to buy it?

Well, The Mortuary Assistant has to be one of the best pieces of Horror I've played in recent years, because it achieves so much more than a cheap JPEG jumpscare here and there.

The biggest praise for The Mortuary Assistant comes down to its generic atmosphere, it takes a relatively normal 'uncomfortable' topic, being death, and dials it up to 11. There is no point in The Mortuary Assistant where you as the player feel truly safe and comfortable, even outside of the game's haunts, the way it has built the environment is just unsettling, preventing you from feeling like you have a "safe space" at any point for what may come next.

Following on from that we have the writing, whilst the Story may not be winning any literary awards of Genius, it's actually a great story. Especially within the genre. Without spoiling anything, the story actually serves to augment the horror, providing some very uneasy grounding for the player that further adds to the constant questioning you'll finding yourself doing. "Was this purely a haunt?" "was some of this true?" "who really am I?" "why am I seeing this?" are all questions you will ask yourself constantly as you play through which in my personal opinion only adds to the incredible atmosphere this game creates. It even takes the time to ground some of the 'things' you see in the haunts with lore, so you feel more uneasy when you see these things, because there is a subconscious link in your mind that then attaches some 'reality' to the thing you're seeing. (Today I learned it's hard to write about a horror story without spoiling it).

If I had to pick one flaw, it's a flaw I often pick when I'm reviewing games, The Achievements. 100 Bodies and 50 Burns is a big ask. At the time of this writing I have done 5 shifts and have almost all of the endings and have seen most of the haunts 2/3 times at this point. So pushing for those two achievements will takes some time, however as you can blitz through a shift pretty quickly, it's not a huge real time sink. Just repetitive. HOWEVER to give this beautiful title the benefit of the doubt, it was made by one person, and perhaps we will see even more events and haunts added to the game to further increase the variety that you can experience, if that happens, not even this flaw will apply.

To summarise:

Pros:-

- A story written with a degree of care to compliment the horror instead of ruin it
- A great variety of experiences for the first few playthroughs
- An absolute gem of atmospheric eerieness and a masterclass in horror elements.
- Soundtrack, where it exists, also pretty spoopy.

Cons:-

- Does get a little repetitive
- 100 body/50 burns achievement is a grind

I can't recommend this game enough though. Get it. Seriously.
