Ace Combat 1-5 on PC = $ (Hint, Wink, Hint, I give money for Ace Combat 1-5)

I admit, this title when first playing it a few years ago on or shortly afterwards of Jan 31 2019, didn't really capture me the other previous title's had. If I had to be honest, I would say the beginning narrative hook of this title didn't catch me, unlike especially (AC:5 - The Unsung War), which Game Trailer's still hold to this day from that game (I've never heard Puddle of Mudd, sound so good in a Video Game Trailer).

I am hopeful for the series of Ace Combat. Especially after an indie game, that was subjectively, imo, superior to this one, came out recently with VR support, and kinda set the bar a little higher. Let's see how far AC, pushes the envelope in 8?

Kerbal Space Program (KSP), has been since it's release, and likely will forever, be my favorite game of all time. Very genuinely. I am in my late 20's now, and have been playing the SNES since 6 years old for reference.

As a mentally disabled person I found this game to almost be Dark Souls hard. I remember countless failures at the launchpad, and countless Kerbals lost forever in orbit of Kerbin (let's not talk about the sub-orbital trajectories).

I remember almost giving up. Almost thinking, well, maybe this game isn't for me. That's not what this game is about though, to me anyways. I would go to bed dreaming of maybe landing on the Mun, seeing the sun rise along the horizon. I had to do it.

I never gave up. I kept trying. Persistently learning against my tiring wishes to quit.

I remember it so clearly: the Sun behind the Mun as I approached it for the first time. The eerie silence, adrenaline spiking, I was hooked for life.

Next thing I knew I was studying AP Physics in my high school. I aced the exams.
Next thing I knew I was studying College Maths/Sciences. I aced the Final on Math.

I will for the rest of my life, contribute that yearning for knowledge to KSP.

Looking forward to playing KSP 2 with my Fiance. It'll be her first KSP.

If you want a game that can change your life forever, you found it.

I remember days as an adolescent youth, playing SWAT 4. The slow, methodical, tactical use of thought.

Ready Or Not, is very much it's own game. But almost feels like a love letter to a game (SWAT 4), I loved playing in older times.

Monthly updates have brought 3+ maps so far, lots of fixes, and more content.

I'm hopeful the developers continue this trend, and it seems as though this will be likely.

If you're a fan of tac-shooters, or haven't picked one up yet, strongly consider this one :).

Wonderful game so far, and is working flawlessly (literally does not drop below 60) for myself.

Game is beyond gorgeous, currently using 10-bit (HDR-on), with a reshade, I mean wow.

Some things I did to remove stuttering:

Reduced fully or Disabled the following:
- Depth of Field
- Motion Blur
- Volumetric Quality
- Global Illumination Quality
- Grass Quality

*Disabled Fullscreen Optimizations
*Ran in Windowed Fullscreen Mode
*Enabled G-Sync (Personal Preference here)
*Set Shader Cache to "unlimited" in Nvidia Control Panel
*Disabled Overlays (Steam, Discord, etc)

Optimizing your PC is hugely important nowadays, visit a popular document (Calypto's Google Document on lower latency for instance is a good starting point)

CPU - i9-10850k @ 4.8 GHz
GPU - RTX 3080 (Under-volt, Overclock)

Edit 1: Game has an FPS patch by the same developer who developed FPS Unlocker for Sekiro. FPS Unlocker works similarly to Sekiro Version. Avg. low~95 avg~105 high~122 (On maximum settings, minus above listed settings)

Warning: I have not completed the Main Story yet, rather this is a review from about the half-way point. However, all mechanics have been tested and all weapons unlocked by this point. For the past two weeks I have been playing this game about every other day for approximately 2-3 hours at a time. I will update this review when I have completed the Main Story. That being said, I couldn't wait to begin recommending this gem of game to my friends and the internet as a whole.

Synopsis: Prey is a first person immersive simulation game that borrows ideas and plays similar to titles such as Deus Ex and System Shock. There is a heavy emphasis from the very beginning of the game to "play your own way." This can be accomplished by playing stealthily, using brute force, your own intellect, or a combination of all to get past ever evolving obstacles in your path. The game uses an upgrade system (neuromods) that you are free to upgrade in any order you would like. This does require a bit of experimentation and trial and error (in my opinion) to find out when and in what order neuromods should be installed to fit your play-style.

Graphics: The aesthetic that Arkane Studios was going for resembles that of a futuristic 50/60's Americana style space station (Talos I). It is wonderfully executed, and helps immerse you in its deep and gripping story. The models, textures, and animations are professionally done, and I have yet to find any bugs or poor performance on any of the aforementioned categories of graphic design.

Combat: The enemies (Typhon) are splendidly designed, challenging, and each different Typhon you face will throw a different ability at you. This forces you to think and explore different avenues to destroy them. Every combat scenario I have come across feels rewarding and energizing. The game constantly rewards you for exploring Talos I to discover different approaches on how to destroy the enemies in front of you that are blocking your path. The use of certain neuromods and a plethora of weapons and items brings a rewarding feeling to the player, for learning how to utilize a certain item, weapon, or neuromod to defeat the Typhon menace.

Sound: [Will update when I become more knowledgeable on the subject]

Story: [Will update when I finish the game. I can say now however the very beginning of the game is easily one of the most psychologically mind-bending thrillers I have ever played. It puts you on the edge of your seat from the very beginning.]

Conclusion / TL;DR: This game is a stellar gem that definitely didn't get enough publicity on release. I would consider it to be the best game Arkane Studios has come out with (I have played their previous titles.) The amount of freedom the game gives you is hard to find in today's market, where most games are designed to hold your hand and tell you, instead of show you. If you are looking at this review, I'm sure you have already done some research, and are on the fence as to whether you should purchase. Take it from an internet stranger, and do yourself a solid favor and immerse yourself in the world of Prey. It is a fantastic game, from an amazingly talented studio of developers, that will have you on the edge of your seat, and have you thinking about it at work/school the next day.

A team-oriented game that plays a lot like soccer, except with Rocket cars. Easy to pick up, difficult to master, with an extremely high skill ceiling. That is the formula for most successful multiplayer video games today. The community around Rocket League is not as toxic as "most" video games. Great to play with friends, but fun to play solo as well. A very well rounded game, that is growing every year. If you are late to the party, don't let that stop you from buying this gem of a game. Definitely worth the $20 they are asking.
