A very fun and challenging experience. I played it primarily with friends, which made it much more enjoyable for me.

Guns! Left Side! Even Side! Many guns! Now! Handle it!

If you've heard of Borderlands then you've heard its a good game. It is, play it if you like shooting.

Good game, very well put together story that fully makes up for the rather clunky (though extremely interesting) combat system. The environments are very grounded and lived in feeling, often giving an eerie feeling, fitting the stories told. The leveling system is rather robust, and certainly gives a strong feeling of progression.

Though it may be a bit difficult to get into, it is a solid game that deserves a play.

Early Access Review
Although I had fun creating my character and playing the missions through the first time, it quickly became evident that the game was designed to make the grind more tedious than necessary so to boost the micro-transactions. Simply getting a new piece of gear was extremely unlikely, and even so the gear itself was without any progression benefits. Every gear has the same stats available to it, which makes it all a case of cosmetics. While this is fine from the standpoint of the grind (they don't help you win, so the micro-transactions are optional), it does make the game feel like you are never getting anything out of it.

Also, while I understand putting character re-customization behind a paywall, putting more character slots behind one seems like a bit much. I understand that alts are mostly useless since every character can play every class, but I still like making and playing new characters, and being told to pay for the privilege made me rather unhappy.

If none of this matters to you, than go ahead and play it. It is genuinely fun for what it is for at least the first few hours. And it is free, so trying it won't be a monetary problem.

Every year I go back to this game. Every year I spend hours playing. Every year it is worth it.

I\'ve played this game more than any other RPG outside of WoW. I\'ve spent hours doing everything from hunting hundreds of elk to walking through a town on a sunny day. Every year, I come back to playing Skyrim for another 100 hours. I don\'t see that stopping. Even when I think I\'m done, that I could possibly do another thing, I always find something new. Whether it is in the vanilla game, or when it is heavily modded. Which is another point. With mods, this game can become so much more than the nigh-perfection it already was. I would honestly say, Skyrim is a game I\'d recommend to everyone even slightly interested in games.
