Fun as ♥♥♥♥, highly recommended. In short, it's like a cyberpunk Hotline Miami. Conbat is fast paced and intense, everything in the game flows together really well, and the music is great. So far, it's probably among my favorites.

I used to play around 6 different games every day. Then I found Warframe. For my first 1,200 hours of playtime I played almost excusively Warframe. Out of the ~250 games I've played, There've only ever been 3 games which have occupied my interest to the point that I play it for hundreds of hours on end without playing anything else. I think after reaching 2,000h of playtime it's about time I wrote a review. Warframe's a fast-paced, horde-based third person shooter. Whether you play this game casually or play like a badass, you'll probably enjoy this game if you enjoy a fast paced movement and combat system supported by great art, UI and an enjoyable non-linear progression system.

Before I played Warframe, I thought calling a game grindy almost objectively made it bad. Turns out I was quite wrong. A grindy game is ♥♥♥♥ if you get unsatisfactory rewards for excessive or boring grinding. (that's what she said) Warframe is neither of these, but if you choose to play like that, you absolutely have that option available! Whether you want to run, jump, and parkour everywhere killing everything that stands in your path, or lie down on your bed for 5 hours with a toggle ability to do everything for you, both work. I've done both plenty of times... I wouldn't say this game is very P2W, but you do get things easier if you just pay. I know plenty of people who've never bought anything in-game who have more or just as much things as I do, however. Making a build for your frames (basically your character; there's 29 right now, all for different situations and stuff) is pretty straight-forward, but you can get fairly in-depth with things if you want to. Platinum (in-game currency) is tradeable, and there is nothing you can buy only with platinum except for cosmetics and some minor things which are supposed to encourage you to trade with other players. The progression in Warframe is definitely not very linear, except for the star-chart. The performance you get with the graphics quality is also very well optimized. Particle effects can be pretty fantastic in Warframe. I'm running this on a GT240 which doesn't even support DX11 on low/medium happily enough. There's plenty of people who run it on worse rigs. If you enjoy shooters and/or fast-paced games based around acquiring resources and such for progression, I'd absolutely recommend this game.

I'll write a longer review tomorrow.

(I DIDN'T PLAY DURING BETA, so I'm completely disregarding what was in beta. I'm only judging the game in its current state, and ignoring it's previous versions)

World
When I first played Firefall, I ended up playing it for 20 hours straight. What appealed and still does appeal to me the most in this game is the terrain. Followed by Skyrim, Firefall has the most aesthetically appealing/beautiful terrain out of all the games that I've played. Terrain types: giant coral forest, jungle, plains, mountainous forest, mountainous desert, desert, redwood forest, dense jungle, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up ♥♥♥♥.

Community
Out of all the games I've played, Firefall has the best or close to the best community in-game. Out of all the time I've played this game, I've only seen about 10 disagreements/people being idiots get out of hand. Each zone has their own sort of thing they tend to talk about. The starting area (Coral Forest) is full of helpful people who answer questions that new players may have, and also just discuss various things. The next area (Sertao) is usually pretty mixed, but it tends to be people talking about the game in general. The last two areas (Devils Tusk, and Amazon) are most of the time people asking to join their raid/mission, etc. I barely see anybody spamming invites though, unlike most MMOs. But regardless of what zone you're in, asking a question will almost always get you a good answer. The developers are also very friendly and relaxed, but they don't come online very much.

Combat
The combat I also find to be quite fun, but I can't quite explain why. You've got 5 battleframes to choose from to begin with, and 16 more as you progress in levels. You can switch between these battleframes whenever you like, which is something I really like as well. For open world combat, Firefall is pretty casual most of the time. You can do quite intense missions if you choose to, but if you just stick to job boards and ares missions, etc. then it's pretty easy. The relatively easy combat combined with the beautiful terrain is just great for a casual but fun and skillful experience.

General Gameplay
The fastest way of leveling up tends to be ARES Missions. These are basically just dynamically spawned missions in the world. As alternatives, you can do the campaign, (not many options) or Job Board Missions. The Job Board is usually what I do, despite it having problems. The places that objectives spawn tend to make no sense. Objectives are spawned in seemingly random locations, so many times I've had a mission to eliminate enemies which somehow spawn inside our base and things like that. On rare occasions you'll also get a glitch where your objectives spawns inside The Melding. (kill-wall) Firefall is very glitchy, and it always has been. Most of the time it's related to objectives or user interface. Objectives have an annoying tendency to not spawn or show their location on your HUD. Most of this time this can be fixed by typing /rui, but sometimes you just have to log out and back in again to fix it. This happens frequently... Crafting is decent in my opinion, but people have pretty mixed opinions about it. The game doesn't focus on you crafting things so you don't really need to grind a certain resource very often. However, there are plenty of things for you to craft if you so desire. The things you buy in Firefall with real money is almost all aesthetic, or a small improvement of something you can get without paying. For example: Headgear, Paint, LGV that goes 20kmh faster, etc. Most of these items you can just buy in the player-driven market for a cheaper price, which is awesome.

Story/Lore
The story is ♥♥♥♥. It makes sense, but it isn't interesting at all. However, there is a good amount of lore behind it. The story is basically: Dude went to alien dimension, came back from alien dimension which released The Melding which killed everything that wasn't near his spacechip. Now aliens are coming to kill all humans for an unknown reason, as well as the melding mutating the wildlife. That's about it. No plot twists or anything you wouldn't expect. But as I said, the lore is decent if you care to find it.

Summary
The main problems with Firefall is how glitchy it is, and the boring story and characters. People also say the voice acting is pretty bad, but I don't really care about that. What Firefall really has going for it is the beautiful terrain and casual but fun combat which makes for a fun and seemingly casual shooter, which can be intense at times. There are other minor problems with Firefall, but what I love about it is the world, the community, and the relatively casual combat.

LONG REVIEW! (copy-pasted from a post I made elsewhere. I made a few changes, however)
TL;DR: Pay-to-play microtransaction game. Community is abhorrent, staff are ignorant hypocrites.

The following amounts of $ are based off the Kongregate prices from ~1 year ago, and are estimated. I am not checking to see if the prices have changed, because this game disgusts me, and I passionately refuse to play it.

I played this game for about 2 years. It quickly became very very P2W. DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME. The gameplay itself is good, but past about level 12 it becomes extremely P2W. You can acquire effectively 3x or 4x more health and armor than your enemies by paying about $25, and get twice as much every stat by paying roughly $50. And then the high majority of guns cost over $15 or $20 each. About 60+ cash, and 40k+coins, which will cost roughly $25. And if you don't buy those yourself, I can completely guarantee that you will be dominated by someone with the defence and the health. You would not beat them even if it was 6v1. I played this game for 2 or 3 years because I had friends on it, and the gameplay itself was fun, mostly because I had these weapons and bonuses. But it is completely pay to win, and I quit it ages ago. There is a slot machine, and the prizes are: 50, 300, 500 coins, 3, 5 cash. (don't know chance but you never seem to gain money if you do it for a while) Besides that, the only reward is the best gun in the game. But the chance of getting it is below 0.001%. A TDP4 moderator known as LiP was supposed to of said this. To back it up, I spent approximately 400 cash (sold all my guns and bonuses and quit the game for good) and didn't get the gun. (I know many people who spent over 1000)
Also, each day you come on, you get to open a briefcase with a very high chance of getting the highest bonus. The bonus of getting a discount on buying things in the game.

The reason the game rating is high, is based off the Kongregate rating. http://www.kongregate.com/games/javelinou/tdp4-team-battle
The reason the rating from high is just an educated guess. The reason is because most of the people are new, rate it after maybe an hour of playing. Game-sites in my experience tend not to have reviewers, critics, and long time gamers like Steam does. They rate it after about an hour of playing, then they either stop playing, or they pay for bonuses and weapons, and don't touch the rating. Neither group touches the ratings, until the realize like so many people including myself has about the obvious truth. The gameplay itself is good, and it is enjoyable. But once you see the community, and you get to the P2W time, it's just over.

Most of the community are jerks, complaining about killsteals, noobs, hackers, buyers, etc. It's one of the games where if you use the wrong gun, or if you use a certain tactic, you will be cussed out, called a hacker, etc. Most of them will just call you a b**** for killing them twice in a row. The main demographic of the community is Russian. (I'm not trying to be prejudiced towards the Russian nationality, I'm just stating the demographic)

The developers are pretty careless. There is a glitch where you can shoot 2-5 bullets from almost any weapon, including the best snipers in the game, and the very high majority of the medium level+ players use this "tactic." There is a glitch where if you hold down 2 buttons, you lag out the game for everyone,(easily 4000 ping) (plenty of people do this) resulting in a game crash, and disconnection. These people are 90% of the time never banned, from my knowledge. I will confirm with my friend who used to be a moderator (not saying his name) for confirmation. The admins are extremely lenient with certain aspects of their terms and conditions. For example, it basically says "no killfarming" in their Terms & Conditions, yet literally any time you go on the game, you'll find at least 5-40 rooms obviously named something related to a kill-farm. People killfarm in order to get KDR, cash, and coins, because they can't earn it legitimately due to the game being P2W. Yet I got banned for doing a combo before, despite 3 moderators disagreeing with the ban. One of my friends in the room was accused of being a bot...Despite playing for the past year, and typing plenty, etc. He had no affiliation or connection to my name, and we lived in completely different countries, so we should of had quite different I.P addresses. It is also stated in the terms & conditions that: (simply put) one is not allowed to killfarm/combo in order to gain XP, currenc, kills, etc. However, there are constantly multiple combos going on in the game, and absolutely no staff members do anything about it. There are other examples of this, too.

If you played TDP4 and you are wondering who I am, my username was xXDeath42Xx. I owned the 4th largest clan ever made in that game called PIE, (3369 members at its peak) yet most of them have quit, and it is very slowly dying. This is the most P2W game I have ever seen in my life. It is also the worst game I've ever played, and I regret playing it.

This game wasn't as crappy as I expected. It's pretty challenging, the soundtrack is good. It's extremely repetive. 4 classes, 3 abilities total, and only one type of enemy. However, the enemies are about the same speed as you, and their projectiles can be hard to dodge. It's worth it for a low price. Anything over $1 or $2 is overpriced for this game. And you make a profit from trading cards!

10/10 would get spawnkilled again.
