The best game from my childhood, I have sunk thousands of hours into this game on the PS2. You can still play it multiplayer on the PC and this game should be in everyone's library.

Rainbow Six Siege is like CS:GO having a deformed baby with the Battlefield franchise that was delivered in a hospital built and run by Ubisoft. Imagine a world where you and 4 other people go into a 5v5 Objective Based Team Deathmatch. You each have 1 life (per round) and are in a world where most walls are destructible and the situation can change in a heartbeat. Where teamwork and teamplay will win and lose matches and the community is much more mature than most if not all FPSs out there. Now take that world and add in the bugs you know and love from Battlefield and Ubisoft's unreliable multiplayer servers and you get, in essence, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege.

With all that said, I think this game is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone out there. The teamplay and community of this game is unlike any other I have played. This game is extremely hardcore though and when you start off it will be hard. Very Hard. I could say it gets better but as you get good, the bugs start pissing you off. There are many times where you will be killed behind corners, be the recipient of a headshot that didn't even hit your body or you will find teammates who are so bad you will want to throw your computer off a cliff.

This is what I would recommend for someone just starting out in this game. Before hopping into your first match watch the tutorial videos. Even if you don't want to just click on them and then skip the video. This will get you around 200 renown (the in-game currency) per video which will be enough for you to buy your first operator. Operators are THE MOST important thing about this game. Each operator has a special ability that is specific to them, weapons specific to their group and a level of armor and speed that greatly affect their effectiveness. After unlocking your first operator (I would suggest getting a Defender to start-their operators are much more necessary than attackers). I would do the first 2-3 situations on the Realistic difficulty. This will allow you to familiarize yourself with all of the controls and concepts of the game and if you complete the 3 challenges (you can go on the easiest difficulty and do this) you can get a second and or third operator.

Now, armed with a basic understanding of the game hop onto multiplayer and play a game of casual. Be prepared for getting destroyed numerous times before you figure out what is what and how to play. Map knowledge is the most important thing, as is your aim and peeking ability. Once you get a grasp of the game and starting going positive in the K/ds, you must, and I repeat MUST start making friends who you can talk to outside of the game and play with. Communication is one of the most important things in this game and the ability to talk to someone, even one person on your team, through a form of communication like skype (ew), teamspeak (woo!), or anything else will give you an edge on your opponents. Playing with teams of 5 where everyone is communicating and you totally destroy entire teams is one of the best moments I have ever had in this game, or most other First Person Shooters.

To recap:
Watch tutorials.
Unlock Operators.
Play Situations.
Go Into multiplayer.
Keep unlocking operators.
Eventually get good.
Make Friends.
Make more Friends.
Get enough friends that are good so you go on a 50 game win streak of flawless victories (3-0 in casual).
Write a review such as this one for the benifit of the people who may buy this game.
COMPLAIN TO UBISOFT ALL THE TIME FOR THEIR ♥♥♥♥ SERVERS.

In all seriousness, this game's community is generally mature and the enviroment in this game is one found in no other. If you feel you can get over the bugs and are on the fence of playing, bite the bullet and get the game. It will be worth it.

Thank you for your time and the fact that you probably didn't read my entire review,
