While I thought that this game was great, I cannot recommend it due to a few reasons that are purely related to the port.

For starters, once you are done with the opening cutscene you are greeted with a data collection prompt with no way to flat out reject any data collection. This is in a single-player game. The lighter collection option only prevents one data type from being collected. Had this been in any other game, I wholeheartedly believe there would have been more outrage.

After going through the process of preventing the game from accessing the internet, you are greeted with an unoptimized mess that brought my graphics card to it's knees in Meridian/any involved combat. I am well over the recommended settings and should not have struggled this much with a PS4 port.

Overall, don't purchase unless you don't value your privacy and have a beefed out PC.

Thank you for the review. Despite what the fanboys try to tell you, this is not normal, and shouldn't be.

To anyone trying to downplay this issue, Sony has a LONG history of doing illegal and invasive snooping on people's PCs. For example, Google (or use Wikipedia) to find "Sony BMG copy protection rootkit scandal". Sony literally installed rootkits in people's PCs (from audio CDs no less!) that left them open to malware, and even destroyed some people's hardware. They were sued in multiple class action lawsuits and by individual states and countries over this issue. This type of stuff is far more serious than some of you trolls want to admit.

Are you dense? The ps4/ps5 version collects the same amount of data.

@DrPlanque, while the mentioned i5 is 4 generations newer than the recommended i7, and does have some specs that are better, it also still has some specs that are worse. So, unfortunately, that still doesn't mean anything.

Comment could have been more useful with the following:

Your hardware: As has already been pointed out in the comments from one person that actually did post their specs, just because you think you're over requirements doesn't mean you actually are.

Specific data the EULA says it's collecting: Without expanded info, for all we know, you're against them knowing what motherboard you have. That said, I have read the comments and found where you specify some of it. I have to agree that seems over the top, though if it's also true as another commenter mentioned that Sony just has 1 universal EULA that they slap on everything, then that explains it. That said, they should have different EULAs that actually match the content....
