Gundam Breaker 4 goes back to the system that works. Build a Mobile Suit, go into a stage, and beat the crap out of enemies.
Unlike GB3, where stages were these huge sprawling things where you'd go from enemy to enemy, taking them down one or two at a time and looking for the next trigger point to spawn in more enemies, along with some random bit of story, GB4's levels are much shorter and to the point. You spawn in, get a wave of enemies to take care of, after which more spawn. The action is non-stop, which is great. There's still a story, which is... well, it's a Gundam story, so you know what you're getting. But you don't have to run around the map looking for triggers to get it going. Everything just flows.

Customization is better than ever. You can change size, position, angle, wear, and so much more with every part. You can make the MS of your dreams.

Multiplayer has you either doing co-op missions, or fighting against other teams. Lots of fun with friends.

Shadows of Doubt is a truly unique and incredible game. A Roguelike detective noir game.

Each game generates a procedural city (that you can decide the size of and even customise before you start). The town is full of citizens, all going through their daily lives. They work, go home, sleep, eat, deal with others, chat with their partner, etc... When a murder happens, you have to figure out everything yourself. This isn't like many "detective" games that basically hold your hand and force feed you clues. It's up to you to check for prints, to look for documents, to hack computers, find out where someone works and check their office, etc... There's a bunch of different killer types, Each case will be randomized and unique.

As you play, you can raise your social status, which will get you more options. You can do little side jobs, from tailing someone to take their picture to recovering stolen property to vandalising someone's place. The more you play, the more info you find on everyone you interact with, which can make future cases easier.

I've put a ton of hours into this game. It's a must have for any fan of detective games.

If you're someone who likes to waste a lot of time doing the same copy and pasted content endlessly, and basically just obsess over seeing 100% completion... you might enjoy this game. Possibly.

It's basically yet another vapid Bethesda open world game. Where you have a very short story with a handful of places to visit... and massive amounts of nothing to waste time in. Tons of planets... all barren and containing the same 3-5 identical outposts repeated across them with the same enemies and the same loot.

There's some "faction" stuff which is shallow and has no real impact.

There's space combat, which is very simplistic and if you've loaded up your ship with the best gear you can buy (which is easy as money grows on trees), then it's a joke. Everyone will end up with the same top tier gear on their ship, and mostly it's just a matter of picking which particular layout you want. You can customize the hell out of your ship... though other than looks, it does nothing. It's another "this item is best, no point in using anything else" type of system.

Ground combat is even simpler than Mass Effect 3. Fallout 4 (which was a joke with zero character skills as long as you had FPS skills as a player) has a deeper combat system. Grab a weapon, dodge bullets like a god, kill everything.

Oh, you can stealth and such too... if you want to max out the skills for it. But there's never any real point as there's never much of a threat from enemies. The only things that CAN pose a threat is some of the wildlife if you get a big spawn of critters. But as you can literally fly out of reach and shoot them... again... meh.

The game also has a wonderfully horrific level scaling system which makes levelling up pointless as enemies simply become bullet sponges to match your increase in damage, meaning stuff takes just as long to kill 50 hours in as they did 5 minutes in.

As far as the story goes... it's... there. Nothing special. Honestly feels rather silly much of the time.

The characters are decent, most of the time. They have some great moments and lines. But once you've done those, they're just target dummies that walk into enemy fire.

You can also generate "random NPC's" to join your crew. Which basically means there's preset random NPC's who come with a skill that you can choose to use instead of the much more useful (and better voiced) companions.

If you're looking for a great open world space adventure, get No Man's Sky, it's VASTLY superior to Starfield.
If you're looking for a great Bethesda game, grab Skyrim or Fallout 4, they're VASTLY superior to Starfield.

Oh, don't forget that this game has microtransactions too. Because of course it does.

A great Metroidvania with a well written story.

Gameplay is what you'd expect. Tight controls. Interesting items. Puzzles ranging from simple to challenging. Varied enemies. Lots of exploration.

Graphics and music are well done. Wonderful art style and a great soundtrack to match the moment.

One of the few games of this type that I actually have been able to enjoy playing through multiple times.

Prey is a great first person action game. Honestly could be called a Metroidvania for the fact that as you unlock new skills, powers and equipment you can come back to previously explored areas to find new routes and places to go.

So first off, the basic gameplay is great. Solid controls, everything's fluid, weapons and items feel good to use. There's also a scanning element (always a good thing) that lets you study the enemies. The levels are decently sized, with lots of options on traversal, lots of nooks and crannies to explore, lots of fun layouts for combat (which picks up more later in the game).

Second, the atmosphere is amazing. The station is a ghost town. You truly feel isolated, and there's only a handful of other survivors on board. Mostly you're exploring the empty corridors and access ways by yourself. Or at least you hope you're buy yourself, as you can never be sure what might be a mimic.

Third, let's talk about those enemies. Mimics are one of the best enemies I've seen in ages. Mimics can be anything. A coffee mug, a chair, that ammo pack you're about to pick up... they do a great job of keeping you on your toes. They're not everywhere, but they can be anywhere. Nothing like having a random desk lamp leap at your face while it changes into a black tentacles critter to get your heart pumping. Later on you start finding more advanced forms of the Typhon. Human enemies that dash about to attack or throw stuff at you. Floating telekinetic foes. Suicide blobs that fly at you to explode. Learning how best to deal with each is part of the fun.

Fourth is the story. Which I feel is wonderfully presented. You start off with certain expectations, which are very quickly shattered. You have many bodies, and a few survivors scattered around the station, and your choices will directly affect who lives or dies. And as you explore and find out the truth of what's going on, you'll be presented with multiple paths to complete the game.

I can't recommend this title enough.

Sadly the game was abandoned after the dev made some questionable changed from the public alpha test. There was a lot of things taken away, and bizarre changes like having all your gear made worthless when you travel from region to region, taking away some of the upgrading, having everything level scale, etc...

Instead of dealing with the feedback, the dev just got upset and abandoned the game, cutting off all contact. So the current game is unfinished. It's playable, but gets a little boring after a while because there's not a whole lot to do. I mean, there's plenty to do, there's just not really any point to most of it.

The dev has stated that they're planning on making a "sequel" that is more like the alpha version (which is what everyone was expecting before this was released). We shall see.

A wonderful remake of the original Risk of Rain. Adding much better (and easier to see) graphics, improved mechanics, new characters, new items, and some really really annoying challenge missions.

A fast paced action platformer where you blast your way through endless enemies gaining levels, money and equipment to make your progress easier. Get items that improve your speed, make you leave fire trails, fire missiles when you open chests, and so much more. It gets wonderfully chaotic.

Each character is unique, with their own skills and play style. Some are vastly easier to play than others, but once you've learned the ropes, all can be a blast to play as.

And of course, jump in with friends and let the chaos reign.

Overall a great farming sim, with some great characters and fun mechanics.
If you've played games like Harvest Moon or Stardew Valley (especially Stardew) you will have a good idea of what you're getting into. Build up your farm, explore the mines, go fishing, make friends... but Coral Island also expands things with diving into the ocean and cleaning up the sea.

While the game is in 1.0 right now, it IS NOT FINISHED. So be aware that a lot of content is still a work in progress. The whole Merfolk thing isn't really done. Some relationships can't be finished. And the main quest itself just ends until more is added.

Dokapon Kingdom: Connect is a wonderful port of the Switch port of the PS2 game.
The controls are smooth, and the game plays wonderfully.

Up to four players (or AI) travel the kingdom fighting monsters, gaining equipment, and most importantly... making money. Spin the spinner to see how far you can move, and pick a direction. There's no set path, you can explore where you want, but the further away from the castle you get, the harder the enemies are. Land on battle spaces to fight monsters (or other players) or get random events. Land on item spots to play a roulette to get something hopefully good, hit up stores to buy new gear, liberate towns from monsters to get a safe harbour and source of income.

It's a wonderful RPG board game where you fight to free the kingdom, and often screw over your friends. There's various classes in the game. You start with three, and as you master them you unlock new ones. Each class has it's own specific features and abilities as well as stat growth.

As you level up and get better gear, you can clear out stronger enemies and liberate more areas.

When a player is in last place for long enough, they will hear whispers of revenge. If they then hit a special spot on the map, they can become the Darkling. A super powered villain that gains XP from stealing towns from other players and is handed a set of overpowered gear to let them harass any players they come across. It's a great way to flip the tables and pull yourself ahead.

This is a wonderful game to play solo or hotseat with friends or online.
Just remember that the tagline for the game is the "friendship destroying game". ;)

Easy thumbs up. This is a great couch co-op game to play with friends.
It's classic old school beat 'em up with some Roguelike twists. The combat is fast and fluid, the characters are diverse and each have their own play style, and the music is catchy.
There's quite a bit of challenge to this game. It's easy enough to "win". It's another matter to excel at the harder difficulties.

If you are a fan of the old school Double Dragon games and similar titles, this is a must have.
