So I´ve had about 170 hours in MSFS20, flying mostly Airliners via VatSim etc.
That being said I now have about 30 hours in game time in MSFS2024.

I do not recommend currently buying this game and sticking to MSFS2020 for a bit longer.
Whilst the streaming issues have mostly been fixed and loading times seem to by alright, as well as a decent performance, I was really hoping the Career mode would be loads of fun, but they kind of butchered it and I hope they will adress and fix some bugs and these random crashes sooner rather than later.

I currently keep playing MSFS2024 because of the career mode and I kind of enjoy it, but also get tilted by things like not being able to add fuel to planes on missions that do not reach the end of their trip otherwise (workaround being to bind a button to "add fuel quantity"), pilot and passengers sticking out of certain planes and walking beside it, as well as having to land on airfields with 20knt side gusts because missions are not considering weather nor can u currently access the data in game which makes some landings just (nearly) impossible and just butchers your reputation *EDIT: or being sucked into outer space by an invisable black hole or alians being catapulted 1000ft into the sky while the plane is level*, as well as randomly getting points deducted for extending your flaps, while literally standing on ground or during approach because apparently 0knts is above maximum speed for flaps *sigh*.

It´s a good idea but it could be so much better and those things completely destroy all immersion for me, and that´s what a sim should do in my eyes, be realistic and immersive and it´s just not reaching that as of now.


Update:

Now having 100 hours of flight time in MSFS 2024 (only career) I can say it´s slowly getting better, black holes seem to be gone, weather seems improved and panalties don´t apply as often out of nowhere anymore. Grass landings and their rating are still weird as well as some spawn points as well as not being able to finish missions because you have to set a parking brake in a heli or not being able to press the button to answer ACT. That said 1.1.10 made things a lot worse and 1.2.70 a lot better again. So if the trend continues people will actually be able to play and enjoy the sim and career mode in a few weeks to months. If you don´t have a long line in term of patience, then I´d still not buy the sim for career mode and wait a bit longer. If you do have a lot of patience and are not getting mad at "medium to small" bugs that easily, you might already be able to enjoy it already.
