+Game's storytelling and writing is much better than 3 so far, a good step in the right direction.

+Gun play feels similar to 3 but more refined and updated, again a nice positive.

---Menu UI is kinda clunky, but I can work with it. Optimization needs more work but it's another UE5 game, which means it's going to run mid. Tim Sweeney(CEO of Epic Games, devs of Unreal Engine) will say it's the game developers fault, and he may be partially correct; but I still blame half of it on the UE5 Engine itself.

EDIT: With the patch released on Sep 13th, my game seems to run slightly better overall. Still mild dips here and there in the open world, but a great step in the right direction for optimization that deserved to be noted.

-personal nitpick, but it feels like the Siren is the objectively best character to pick if you plan on playing on Hard difficulty due to her ability to have affinity with ANY Element rather than just two elements like every other character.

Potential is here once they smooth out the optimization. It ran decent in the prologue but the open world definitely dips a bit on occasions. With some better optimization improvements this game will be solid

Performance issues. Typical modern day Unreal Engine game with a hard 60fps cap that feels more like 40fps anytime the character is not standing still.

Rig is decently beefy enough, too. 3080 TI, 32GB RAM, and 11th Gen i9, along with game being installed on a M.2 Drive. I was trying to run the game on the 'performance' preference that it lets you select when launching the game.

EDIT: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuStEOalwtw

Real bummer, I was looking forward to this one for a long time. Will definitely give it another chance once I see better optimization as I want to be able to experience all the new and bonus content that was added to this game (along with the upcoming foxhunt) but I can't even enjoy the virtuous mission 'prologue'.

Try it yourself and see if you have better luck, otherwise maybe just wait for a couple performance patches.

Just not fun for me. a far cry from the first two games. The game appears to be trying very hard to be a mix of Helldivers 2, Deep Rock Galactic, and Killing Floor...but it doesn't really do either one well at all

If you're a fan of sci-fi you may enjoy it, but this one's a miss on me as a fan of KF1 and KF2, growing up on KF (mod), KF1, and Defense Alliance 2.

Good:
*Environment design
*Music
*Gore system (usually)

mid:
*Character and enemy design (most forgettable enemies and player characters in a Killing Floor game to date)
*Sound design
*Character abilities (cause everything needs to be a hero shooter apparently. Once they separate characters from Perks I will change this)

bad:
*Weapon design (boring, generic "spacey futuristic" type guns, lacking impact and feel lazy)
*Weapon variety (lacking severely. Each class has maybe 3-4 different weapons with each weapon having different 'variants', which generally consist of something basic like a drum magazine attachment, muzzle suppressor, or a red dot sight or mix of the like)
*Player characters being locked to specific perks (Devs did confirm this will eventually be changed in the road map, however I'm surprised it wasn't changed when the game was de-listed from Steam the first time)
*Weapon handling (feels like a direct downgrade from KF2, boring, just not fun, no feedback, animations are meh and trying too hard to be "cool youtube reload animator" without the skill-set being honed first)
*Social hub lobby. Think Destiny's Tower, Vermintide 2's lobby, DRG mining base, or a Helldivers 2 player Destroyer Ship(but larger). Basically instead of giving you a menu lobby you run on foot in game to different intractable objects to open different menus.
*NO communications features (Seriously? No Text or Voice Chat? Like I get that most people use Discord but c'mon.)
*NO Server Browser

subjective:
*Battle Pass (Allegedly you pay and they don't expire, which is nice despite still being a battle pass on day one)
*Mandatory shader compilation on first launch while the games volume blasts the menu music at full blast and it cannot be changed without using Volume Mixer on Windows.
*Cross play

At the end of the day, Killing Floor 3 to me is everything a Killing Floor game is not from a development and polish standpoint. Even with polish, I'm afraid the game is still going to feel stale and bland, and that's a huge bummer for me personally.

In terms of content, I'm sure over the course of the next several years the game will get a lot of content under the guise of 'brand new' ported from KF2 or other Tripwire titles in the form of weapons, skins, player characters, etc, and I have a stronger suspicion they'll end up in a paid battle pass when they do

Not bad so far, definitely works as a survival game and the comparison most folks are making to Valheim is warranted and not entirely a bad thing. Hasn't changed * a ton * from alpha testing.

**Epic Account is required for multiplayer, however the game does give you the option to play offline solo without an account which is nice

With some time, this could shape out to be a fun in depth survival experience in the Runescape universe. I personally feel it still needs some polish around optimization but otherwise as a fan of survival games and a longtime Runescape player I have been having fun with it.

POE 1 > POE 2

POE 2 has some severe identity issues. Does this game want to be a successor to POE 1 or Elden Ring? Jonathan Rogers can't figure out what he wants. I enjoyed the game when it first launched in EA until I burnt out, I then stopped playing until .2 came out and so once that launched I gave it a shot! a new class is cool, some new items, and items taken from poe1 and a new league 'mechanic' that is essentially a watered down affliction league and well frankly it’s just not fun. the game crashes 10x more than it did originally.

maybe in 10 years it'll be decent to play but for now, this game does not respect your time and frankly isn't even that fun to grind

What we have here is a fun successor to the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R games. The performance definitely needs some optimization tweaking but that's to be expected of a modern day game release. I recommend turning on FSR Frame Generation and it will help with the frame rate a bit (at least it did for me) making the game playable and an enjoyable experience.

If you bought this game expecting GAMMA or Anomaly, you may or may not be disappointed.
If you played the original trilogy at some point, welcome home.

I wish I could erase all of my memories and experience Outer Wilds and it's DLC for the first time again
