I'll never forget the uncountable amount of reviews i made that actually molded the game, rest in peace...
TLDR: Game needed higher difficulties
Undoubtedly this game have the best parkour mechanics I've ever seen. The parkour is GREAT.
Storywise I didn't actually expect much. I expected rich gameplay and a mid-good story. The beginning is cool but when you reach the second half it gets boring.
Combat is great and a very well done part of the game. It is definitely better than the first one. The physics at launch was horrible. Now it is very fun to mess around with the latest updates.
Overall I think dying light 2 is a great game but its closer to being a hack and slash parkour game than survival horror game. In it's current state I think it at least deserves a %80 positive reviews on steam. My point to the current state is 7.5/10 at least. Also remember: most fans were willing to wait for couple more years for a full, perfect release (me included). Keep up the good work 👍🏻
My opinion on DL2 has changed over the years. The first year of release, i did not really like the game. 2 years later after massive updates i think the game is decent. Potential to be amazing will depend on how good DLC will be in the future. Sadly i think the base game will always be very mid, especially the storyline. I don´t like it, and i think only a minority do! Your future really depends on creating new storylines outside of the city. Your ambitions were too high, and with Avellon parting ways with you guys, was very noticable as to how many things were rushed in the game. I hope all is well in the progress of DLC 2 and i wish you guys the best.
There are many more reasons but I think these are enough.
If you follow Dying Light 1 formula with better approach without using modern policy, you can make a good story.
Good Luck and Good Night
You said you sent me an invitation but I don't know what invitation so I will say my reasons here:
Story is bland because it loses it's focus in the middle of the story, like you almost forgot you are here to find your sister, characters are not important because you jump from a character to another so soon without getting obssesed with them, opposite of dying light 1 like you really feel something for Jade or Rahim or even Old Doc, even the villain is not good as the first game, because all he do is attacking you and you don't know what is he doing at all until the end.
There are many more reasons but I think these are enough.
If you follow Dying Light 1 formula with better approach without using modern policy, you can make a good story.
Good Luck and Good Night
Again sorry, but for my english, i'm not a native speaker
Wishing you all the best for your future endeavors tho :>
Currently the biggest issue is you showed you did not want to listen to your players opinion and went ahead and did what Tencent wanted you to do anyway, learn from this mistake and please improve because this is coming from a true fan who really enjoys your games.

I'll still support dying light but not as much as I did before, I have my trust in you techland, please don't ♥♥♥♥ it up
The combat in DL2 felt oddly clunky and the same goes for some of the parkour mechanics, I can't quite put my finger on it, but it felt worse in comparison to DL1.
All of the marketing i've seen on DL2 so far has been cash shop bundles, and nothing gameplay wise, this is what's kept me away from giving the game a second shot, as it appears to me that the priorities for DL2 is trying to squeeze out as much money as possible without improving the game.
You had invited me somewhere but I did not recieve no invitiation nor any messages
I would be fully open to explain my reasoning of disliking the game to you directly if thats okay
But if you had an alternative location where I may be able to leave a review, that could also work
Likewise, I would also like to recommend a very good friend of mine who has a lot of hours within both games and would have a lot of useful input to share of where the second game failed.
Regardless, do please simply let me know where or when we may be able to give out our input. As while we were disappointed by the second game, my friend and I have great expectations for the third game. We would love to share our take on the story, the lore, the gameplay and all of the aspects of the game.
- the combat has been improved humans no longer insta raise after being knockdowned
- lockpiking can be bypassed by autounlock and upgrades although too many upgrade levels
- two handed weapons hit air and yet Aiden gets thrown down, hit detection is still off
- during sprints i get grabbed/hit by zombies even though I should be clear
- story is still miles below 1, the problem is it takes itself too seriously
- lawans shoe mission should've been introduced earlier to make her more likable
- game is well optimized even for my low end pc and mostly bug free by now
- clearly you are working on the game, but it will take years to reach the level of DL1 in 2015.
- 0 horror during nightime even with the updates
- proto stealth
- you introduced a cash/coin shop - why?
TLDR: You still have a lot of work on the base game. I'll always support you guys so long as you continue the labor.
The main point is the disconnect. Fighting should be snappy, with very little watching things play out between being able to control them.
With DL2, I didn't progress very far after a couple of missions (believe me, I really tried to push myself to enjoy it). I found the gameplay experience choppy at times, like it didn't seem very fluid and the missions didn't really seem very appealing either i.e. go here fetch that then repeat. Also, as a personal preference I kind of like guns in a zombie game alongside melee weapons but it seemed you were limited to the latter at the outset. Overall, I felt that the 'fear effect' I mentioned earlier was missing.
