I killed myself today.
To end the pain and suffering.
To rid my heart of the ache.
To stop myself from sinking lower.
To finish what I couldn't years ago.

I didn't do it to make people sad.
Not out of fear.
Not out of loss,
Nor hardship.

I saw no end.
I saw no other way out.
I saw the gun to my head.
Then I saw the light.

The shot woke my parents.
The shot woke my brothers.
The shot was heard around the neighborhood.
But I did not hear it.

My family surround me today.
They're all wearing black.
My friends are there as well,
along with teachers from the past.
Wondering why I did it.

I watch from above.
Trying to comfort my loved ones.
Trying to undo my wrong.
Trying to fix their broken hearts
and broken lives.

I try but cannot fix the past.
I try to take that bullet back,
But there's no use.
What's done is done, and I can no longer take it back..
