The Resident Evil 4 remake is a true masterpiece. As a fan of survival horror, I was initially sceptical about the game's potential to deliver the same level of terror as previous instalments. However, Capcom has delivered a game that satisfies every level.

The graphics are phenomenal, the animations are smooth, and the progression is perfect. The amount of content that has been changed ensures that the game feels fresh and exciting, yet there is enough that stayed the same to be recognizable from the original game. The game is incredibly satisfying and responsive, making it enjoyable for everyone.

Despite not being a survival horror game, the remake has improved on the original in many ways. Capcom made the game darker, grittier, and slightly more horror-oriented, but they couldn't make it scary without making big changes to the game. I'm worried about the future of the series, however, as Capcom may continue the trend of making more action-oriented games.

The series needs a return to its roots, with a small, claustrophobic map and a dark and hopeless atmosphere. A new protagonist is necessary, as the OG characters are too strong and experienced at this point. The protagonist needs to be someone who isn't experienced, someone who feels scared, so players can feel scared too. Capcom should follow in the footsteps of RE2R and RE7, rather than Village and RE4R.

If Capcom decides to remake another game, Code Veronica would be great. RE1 would also be a good option, and they could fuse RE0 and RE1 into one game with two different scenarios. RE5 and RE6 are too far gone into action, and they should keep the mainline games single-player with Outbreak remakes for co-op play.
