For everyone missing Half-Life or classic shooters in General. When you get bored of DOOM or Wolfenstein 1 & 2, then pop this one in and enjoy the ride. It is hard but filled with a memoral moments and an amazing soundtrack to go along!

Absolute recommendation for old-school shooter fans!

While most of my criticisms I had writing my first review of Deux Ex: Mankind Divided still ring true, giving this game a second chance was one of the most brilliant experiences I've had in gaming this year.

When I jumped into this game 3 years ago, my mind was not set on taking the time, exploring the environment, listening to all the conversations or reading every journal lying around. I wanted to continue the story Human Revolution kicked off and had high hopes for another fascinating peak into the Cyberpunk Genre. Quickly I was disappointed by it's clunky controls, stiff animations and the combat, that you are unfortunately forced into early in the game (at least I find it very hard not to confront the AI in that library).

So I stepped into Prague (a city that I love in real life) and was blown away by the detail, overall graphical fidelity and just how full of life it seemed, only to be upset by the first enemy encounter - which was followed by me uninstalling the game right away.

Three years later, Cyberpunk 2077 moved again, I was in the mood for a huge adventure and thought - "I enjoyed Human Revolution way too much, to not enjoy this one" - I installed it again and took my time. I listened, I read, I looked around in Prague, not following the main story indicator and what I found was a world, that had so much more to tell, than it it's arguably mediocre main campaign.

Only when you are open to it, have the time and desire to explore outside of what the game tells you to do, you will find great pieces on modern Transhumanism Theory and exploration of what this genre can hold. And not just that. Visiting some of the environments - that do not hold any weight in the main campaign - are fully fledged dungeons to explore, manipulate and making your own. When I entered the Palisade Bank for the first time I felt trapped - at the end, when I had every shaft checked, brought every device under my control and knew the place back to front and had it looted, they were trapped with me. ... But I just left, since I didn't feel like being the bad guy after all! :D

Seriously, if you love the genre, look past the crappy opening and try to enjoy what is on offer. Probably, until December 10th, there is none better.

Old Review ----- :
Despite being a huge Cyberpunk Fan and being blinded by Mankind Divided's optics, character design and soundtrack, I find it hard to look past the mediocre storytelling, wonky controls and outdated animations. I was a huge fan of Human Revolution, but that was 6 years ago and now I have different expectations for a so called "AAA" title.

Unfortunate. I hope the 3rd one improves on the many awesome ideas they had with the series, but lacked in execution.
