Bought this for $2.

Having seen Let's Plays of it here and there for over a decade, 15 years at this point Christ, I knew it wasn't a great story and wasn't going to take it serious. I had only seen the goofier side and did want to see if I could get the good ending.

Imagine my surprise when the controller controls don't even work! On a Playstation game! You cannot do the Skate style turns in the tutorial level without some controller edit for the game and I can't be assed to fix a $2, bad game like this.

My expectations coming into it were low but damn.

I've never seen a DLC integrate into a story so seamlessly. The only reason I can even tell is from playing older versions. Such a great story, great weapons and equipment, and I absolutely adore Kibellah.

One of the few games I've beaten and immediately started a new save on. Absolutely nails the 40k feel.

Spent a lot more time on this than I thought I would

I got this for free and I still feel ripped off.
Clunky writing, uninteresting and annoying protagonists, horrible pacing, soulless mechanics, numerous bizarre gameflow choices, weak guns, the worst sound design I've ever heard in a big game, and just overall boring and bland.

I spent ~10 hours before I gave up and just bee-lined the main story. That only took another ~4 hours and I did not enjoy it. I don't really understand the pacing of this game but I went from the bottom to the very top in like... 5 missions? What?

Man I just don't care anymore. I don't care about the nerfs or fighting X is better than Y or 'muh devs' or any of that. I just want to have a game I can jump into, play a few rounds, and come out feeling happy or at least better. But no. It's such a slog to have fun. You're either in a walking sim (low dif) or spend more time ragdolling than you do standing. It's just not fun anymore.

Edit: The rework update was great but I'm still not all that interested in going back.

I'm not smart enough for these games but I still enjoy them greatly. Too much DLC though.

I've tried to play this twice now and hate it. Gameplay is overall decent, lots of QoL improvements but holy crap the story is a complete cluster. Horrible writing, cringey, the worst villains ever written, and you're not even the main character, Lillith is.

How do you go from Handsome Jack levels of antagonist and go to *this*?

I loved it at first but it's just.. not there. Without any real content updates or reworks of some systems that really need it, the game is very bare bones. It's fun for what it is and mods definitely help, but it's just not there and doesn't look like it ever will at this point. Coming up on what, half a year with no updates and longer with no major content?
