Early Access Review
For SMITE 1 vets, there will be a bit of a learning curve and some new things to get used to, but when it clicks it CLICKS. The shift to unreal5 was absolutely necessary for the health of the game and to allow for new and fresh content. The new gods are very promising, and while the new item system can be a bit confusing at first, it has so much more variety and fun to it. HiRez is being very clear with the content release schedule and I can see SMITE2's god pool and game content matching SMITE1 very quickly. If you didn't give the game a chance before with its rough start, PLEASE try it again.

For new players, I encourage you to try the game despite the mixed reviews. SMITE2 has something for everyone. Play conquest for a more traditional strategic MOBA experience, play arena for a more casual TDM, and Joust and Assault play in-between those two. There are variety of gods with different play styles and they can be taken in all sorts of directions depending on the item's you build. The game can be hard to learn but it's an incredibly rewarding experience mastering your god and leading the team to victory!

Jurassic World: Evolution got off to a rocky start as it was rushed by Universal to be released alongside Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Thus a variety of features and content had to be left out, resulting in a fun, but disappointing product for some of us. However, Fronteir is showing us that they are listening to the community with updates slowly introducting heavily request features such as sleeping and herd mechanics.

Despite the rough start, I find JWE to be an incredibly fun park management/zoo simulator. The dinosaurs are beautiful, but have some somewhat repititive animation sets that look a bit silly sometimes. This is especially noticable during combat between dinosaurs of vstly different sizes face off, with carnivores bitting the air or a Triceratops ramming its horns into nothing.

Going through the main campaign was fun, and the progression to differnt areas and unlocking different dinosaurs felt well done. Some of the main story missions i found frustrating, expecially ones that featured eternally angry carnivores or required you to keep carnivores and herbivores together without a certain ammount dying. The latter type of mission has been made substantially easier however thanks to changes to dinosaur AI. As many will say, maps often feel small for the amount we are required to build, but it is possible to fit a substantially amount of creatures on each map while still meeting guest requirements. After one is finished with the campaign, challenge mode is a great form of entertainment, blitzing through to 5-stars and unlocking everything again before the time limit is reached.

Overall, Jurassic World: Evolution is a great game in the making, with paid and free updates coming in the future that are sure to mould the game into the perfect experience for dinosaur lovers and Jurassic Park fans everywhere.

I've put close to 2000 hours into this game and with the sequel around the corner I can't say I regret it.

There have been ups and downs and stupid decisions by the devs, but at its core, SMITE is a game I can always come back to and have some dumb fun with.
