This review comes from someone who has ever played The Sims in regard to simulation games. This review was written after roughly 170 hours of playtime.

Pros:
- Devs listen to the community and regularly release patches that handle issues and QoL changes the community wishes for.
- Almost no limit to your creativity.
- The animations are wholesome and precious.
- The weekly community challenges take influence on the market prices of the animals in Franchise mode, so new players can go with the flow and get usually higher priced animals rather cheap when the challenge draws to a close. It also keeps the Franchise mode diverse.

Cons:
- There are bugs. The worst that happened to me so far is that I lost all of my stored animals in Franchise mode, which was quite the loss since many were of high genes that would be rather expensive. Else I only came across minor bugs so far that weren't game breaking. (I'd say I see a bug every 5-10 hours of playtime.)
- It is really performance heavy. I recommend 16 GB RAM minimum, since both my gaming laptop and gaming tower with 8 GB each are struggling once the zoos get bigger/guest numbers increase. You also need quite the good graphics board if you want to play in high resolution. (It's still really beautiful on low res, though!)
- It's tough to understand for a beginner and doesn't really give you a hand most of the times. The tutorials kind of help, but are not very detailed. I'd recommend looking up the videos of PaulsLey and Rudi Rennkamel for a good understanding of how things work.

tl;dr: Awesome for people that need a creative outlet, have a decent to good pc and the patience to work with a steep learning curve and minor bugs.
