With over 100+ hours in this game, I'm ready for Queensland

This game is good, don’t get me wrong but it is deffinatly a single player game over everything else.

The writing is great, very funny at times and quite intense towards the end, very reminiscent of old Bioware (think mass effect 2 and knights) If you play a female character its basically like playing a renegade play through but with paragon choices towards the innocent.

The voice acting is exceptional, with the slight mixing ♥♥♥♥ up occasionally, where one line will be super quiet from the rest of the dialogue, but the feeling is correct in the delivery of most if not all lines

The reason I’m giving it a no is:

If you attempt to play with anyone else you are going to run into a laggy mess with hundreds of bugs. From invisible enemies to not being able to move properly without rolling everywhere, and oh god Peer to Peer connection but worse.. I play with a friend who lives 10 mins down the road and our connection is a red bar lag fest.

The servers disconnect you randomly from the game, which begs the question… Why is the multiplayer p2p if there are servers you have to always be connected to?

Unreal engine crashes constantly.. I’ve lost hours of progress over my play time because autosaves happen after cutscenes and when does unreal crash? Yep.. at the cutscene trigger after the boss fight, or you will crash at main menu load in for what seams like no reason.

The enemy types.. Very lacking, you have the run at you type, the tanky shotgun chargers, the gunners and the snipers, just with a different coat of paint for every faction. The boss fights are … okay? Very easy with only 3 mechanics to learn each time but at least they are a spectacle to fight through.

To end;

If you are willing to look past these bugs and enjoy the game as a single player romp through a well crafted, if not predictable, story with amazing voice work and often beautiful surrounds with clunky but workable controls then I would say go for it, but maybe wait for fixes or get it on sale.

I really want to love this game. I've been playing MMO's since I could use the WASD keys to move and not the arrow keys. This game has such potential, it's just a buggy, laggy mess. Using 3rd party lag reduction programs do nothing to aid this either, and as it's combat is based on avoiding telegraphed aoe's on the ground with a very short window to actualy dodge, it's unplayable at anything over 150-200 ms.

I'd drop WoW in a heartbeat if this game had an oce megaserver. As this game has thousands of hours of explorational play time, and much like every TES game, each charachter you make is unique and you have a massive level of freedom. What MMo's on the market let you break into some NPCs house and steal everything that's not nailed down to the floor? Or as a final FU to that one guy who only had cooking items in his locked chests, stealing everything out of his pockets?

But as is, there are dropped frames everywhere. I'm running 2 1080 TI's SLI Bridged and consistantly my fps drops to below 15. Disconnects are frequent and oh god the lag. If I join dungeons, I either get an infinite loadscreen, or lag horribly. The best part is, I can make everyone ELSE in the dungeon lag also. I can break entire dungeons by just joining them when the stars arn't alligned and make everyone in the whole dungeon spike to over 10k ms. Which breaks dungeon mechanics. It's good fun.
