True, the combat mechanics are a bit undercooked, but they're fast and colourful and arcadey and... optional, ha ha. And I couldn't believe my eyes seeing dodge-roll in a Sherlock Holmes game!!! It's a big shift from story-driven adventure game to open world non-liniar mystery solver, so maybe it'll take a few more games to polish up the formula, but I like where the series is going and I'm hopeful for how it'll evolve in the future. It's a shame about Watson, you're right, but I love the Sherry-Jon dynamic and I think it plays well into the idea of Holmes' needing a level-headed sidekick.

To you, I raise this glass of mead around this cozy bonfire. Let us regale each other of tales long since past or stories that have begun fading into the mists, for I fear they could be lost to the
wraiths of time.

Let us put these stories once again upon our tongues and let us sing them into the void so that those on the other side may hear them once again and remember that heroes never die, they just get old and don't leave their bonfire as much as they used to.

So I finally finished my Black Eagles playthrough - Crimson Flower, of course! and it was so incredible, I enjoyed it so so much! I definitely do want to do the other routes just to see them, but that route will always be canon to my heart. So glad I got to see things through to the end while supporting our dear Edelgard the whole way there~
