The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is an action role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks.
Skyrim was launched in 2011, bringing to life an epic fantasy adventure to captivate the player base with its detailed world building, compelling story, funny characters and a large variety of enemies.

The story is rich and puts you in the shoes of the Hero, the Dragonborn, amidst a foreign land and in the middle of a war between Stormcloaks and the Empire. You have the power and strength to decide your fate and the tide to which future of the battle unfolds, and what side you choose to support in their fight.
As the Dragonborn, you have a vast world to explore inside a huge open world map, a ton of secrets to uncover, caves filled with enemies to loot and so much more.

The game is not shy on what it has to offer you. A breathtaking world full of life and color, and all you have to do is explore. Become the adventurer and warrior you were born to be!

Even if the main story keeps a somewhat linear thread, on both sides, you have freedom on what you can do and want to do, as the main story progresses.
With countless story quests, side quests, faction quests, secrets, secret dungeons, collectibles and a multitude of armor and weapons to choose from, and craft. The game gives you everything to keep you engaged and entertained for hundreds of hours.

Yes, it’s true, even though the start of the game is slow and you do have to explore everything on foot before unlocking map travel to the discovered locations, this does not get in the way of progressing or exploring as you want. But in fact, helps to immerse you in the world building and to bond with the npc’s and companions you meet along the way. It reminds you to stop, look around and pay attention to the details of this massive world and its beauty.

The gameplay is interesting, challenging and the fighting mechanics can be a bit frustrating to those who are not familiar with how a role playing game works. You can either use first person or third person view, and change it to suit your needs by the press of a button.
Keep in mind this is a game of exploration at its core, you have to fight your way to survive and you must learn to pick your battles.
You are introduced to a leveling system that at first glance looks simple enough but, it has more depth and variety underneath. The more you use a fighting style, the more experienced you become at it, be it physical or magical. Your character gains more experience and levels by killing enemies, and using any of the combat skills or weapons.
The secret here is, the more you use it, the more skill and points you gain in that category and the stronger you become.

As the word implies, your character being the Dragonborn, it hints as to the fact that there are dragons in the game. Dragons are very powerful and dangerous enemies, don’t confront them without being fully prepared. And one core mechanic you will learn early on in the game is that, your character as the Dragonborn, has a special and peculiar ability, that no one else has. As you slay dragons, you can absorb their souls to unlock that said special ability: the Shouts.

The soundtrack is beautifully done and it helps to pull you in further into that world. Epic songs with instrumental arrangements and voices that will give you goosebumps and that euphoric feeling while you are in the middle of a battle, fighting for your life.

The elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a masterpiece that should be played at least once in your life, without a hint of regret!

Altho this game is not without its flaws, it has aged as a fine wine and the mod community keeps adding extra content and interesting mod choices to spice the game and nurture what already is an awesome and massively loved game.

PS: DO NOT KILL THE CHICKENS! You will regret that choice for the rest of your life! XD
