Game drifts further away from the game they sold us with every update

Devs seem to want an instanced looter shooter whose main form of gameplay is not fighting zombies, but fighting your way around all of the hackjob methods they've used to prevent people from doing whatever they want in a game whose primary selling point is that you can do whatever you want

I'd give the game a positive review actually for some real genuine improvements over the years, but I'm locked out of 50% of the steam review mechanic because I opened 158 mailboxes and couldn't find the magazine that lets me give positive reviews

Update ties mouse logic to framerate and further destroys your framerate simultaneously, causing massive input lag, and also some really fun display lag, while also causing stuttering, AND ON TOP OF THIS, forced mouse acceleration

the running joke is "unplayable" for minor ♥♥♥♥ but this game is now figuratively unplayable, the game effectively has 3000 ping even in single player, and the DLC has forced these bugs on people that didn't even buy it

and I haven't even mentioned the £30 pay-to-win aspect of the DLC having enormous perks and stat bonuses locked behind the price of a new game

A seemingly simple RPG that has more depth than first realised

Two minor tweaks to make this one of THE best 40K games; a Minimap, and the shotgun ricochets to not damage you I stg it's safer to use the plasma gun in CQC than the shotgun in case you accidentally strafe past a pillar/railing/rock/crate/etc, the Plasma gun hits you for like 100 damage but the shotgun just instas you sometimes when it doesn't deal 150+

I'll take "Bloons Tower Defence, but worse in almost every way with a premium currency that disappears if you don't manually collect it" for 400, Alex

Protip: If you're new to the skeleton character that throws bouncing bones, your first level up choice NEEDS to be a weapon. If you don't get one, you have two viable strategies that might be a little advanced for new players, but they're easy to master once you figure out the trick. The first strategy is to press escape, and hit quit, and start again. The second strategy is a little more advanced, you need to hold ALT and THEN press F4, and relaunch the game.

Went in expecting something I was going to compare to STALKER and Fallout, and now I have something that I'll compare other things to. Rides a very fine line of deathly serious and morbid, macabre composure, and then completely gut punches you with surreal comedy that takes you so off guard it's even funnier. Also has real characters? Like, actual likeable npcs with personalities. STALKER has the same 3 guys screaming, and Fallout has the same 3 guys screaming their life story unprompted at you that barely fits in the world for no reason. Railgun with infrared scope + regenerating ammo is hilariously powerful. The atmosphere in Chernobylite absolutely blows its contemporaries out of the water. Every location is beautiful and somber, and when the storm comes in it becomes so oppressive. The mutants are fantastic, even somehow managing to make bog standard "urgh argh imma bite you" zombies a genuine threat. The time modification mechanic is probably one of the best ways I've ever seen to avoid having to replay the game to fix a mistake you made 40 hours ago, and the entire Chernobylite realm is a wallpaper generator (using one right now).

Very cool mechanics, could probably do with less long walking sections and better signposting of if an enemy is in the left or right lane, and which gun is firing. Maybe smaller individual upgrades/sidegrades rather than the big jumps each item seems to be. Definitely not as mindless as the initial concept implies

Abandoned, poorly balanced, about as resource efficient as three Chrome tabs. Numerous literal game ending bugs, questionable mechanic changes like how one of the last patches released forever ago meant that poop could knock people off the boat effectively resulting in pure random chance that you will periodically lose crew randomly unless you cage your units in and only let them out once you've turned cleaning off everyone. Occasionally you'll land and OOPS enemies literally 4x your level will oneshot you, or enemies 1/5 your level will kill you over 5-10 minutes because your crew just... stopped responding to your commands again. Yay. Demolishing a boat instead of capturing it doesn't give you nearly as much as the materials it cost, but there's going to be items on your boat that are difficult to get that you don't get to keep so you NEVER want to capture anyway, unless you're trying to cheese it by just sailing on a 3x3 raft (see losing crew randomly to poop once again) in which case congratulations the optimal way to play a game about building a ship and crew is to not build a ship and avoid developing a crew, just hire as many as you can and give them all knockback weapons to stunlock enemies or juggle them into the ocean.

Dead game, needs buried.
