Amazing character-focused story told in a unique way. You really warm up to the townspeople by the end.

Loved Obra Dinn, and this reminded me of it a lot.

Some pros are that the game looks great, especially for an indie game from 2013. Also, the little interactions you could do with items and characters in the game were pretty cute. I also generally liked the environments you walked through and the story they told about what happened there.
However the game tries really, really hard to evoke emotion in the player but it feels super manipulative and not earned in the slightest - as there is no dialogue to speak of, no narrative context or depth for the chacters besides the journey itself and little character development besides a little at the end, it's hard to care for these two. The sluggish gameplay and repetitive unchallenging puzzles mean that you've generally immediately figured out whatever you need to do and are just waiting for your characters to catch up to the goal. The further the game went on the less I cared about them, to the point I nearly laughed out loud at the ending - specifically the scene (ENDING SPOILERS) where you dig a certain hole because of how emotionally manipulative it felt and how it dragged on . A cut to black a minute or two earlier would have been much better.
Overall, it's obviously not a terrible game, and I'm being harsh on it, but the slow gameplay and the forced story really soured me on the experience. I would have liked to see a less linear path through the levels with more than exactly one solution for every segment, and more actual dialogue to flesh out the characters and the world they are traveling through. For example I would have liked to see the back-stories behind the blood ritual and the giants or why the ogres were being kept captive or what was going on in the giant's tower , I was much more interested in everything around the main characters than the characters themselves.

!!! SPOILERS !!!

Awesome game, especially the stealth aspect is very fun to play. The AI. is very glitchy at times, unfortunately, but other than that, the gameplay is good.
One of the disadvantages the game has is the Checkpoint save system, which unnecessarily increases the difficulty by a huge amount at some points As you progress through the game you follow a (very open, yet) linear path to various objectives that are pointed out on the map. At various keypoints, for example behind a base, a yards down the road, or at a roadblock the enemy put up. These are usually few and far between, *especially* in later levels of the game. As you activate the checkpoint by walking into it, instead of completing an objective (like killing the soldiers guarding the base (roadblock), it can happen that you accidentally save while on very low health. With a normal Save/Load system you would just reload an earlier checkpoint and try again to complete the section at higher health/armor, but this waqy you have to completely scavenge the base and all the surroundings for ammo and health/armor to at least have a chance at progressing through the game, as you WILL die very quickly, depending on your difficulty.

Apart from the save system, another flaw of the game is the steep difficulty curve. At one point in the game you will encounter so-called Trigens, mutated apes that will jump at you and can usually kill you in just under a few hits.
These can make it extremely hard to survive against other human enemies, just because they reduce you to such low health.

Another frustrating enemy appears much further in the plot: Giant mutants. With rocket launchers. That detect you from like 200m away. Afggdfgfdgdgsg.
These are so frustrating to kill, as they usually take like a million hits to kill, draining your ammo count (one time, I had to resort to grenades, as all my guns were completely out of ammo!)
Overall, the levels are well designed, though, and the rest of the gameplay makes up for those annoying details.
If I had to rate the game, I would give it an 8/10. 9/10 if the Save system was improved out of the box, that means more checkpoints and better placement of them, or a Quicksave/Quickload system, like in many other games.

CS:GO Review
Awesome game! Not having played 1.6, but a bit of Source (mostly casually and messing around with friends), I think I can still safely say, the game has retained what made the earlier titles so fun and addictive (playing CS:GO 'till 5:30 in the morning, yay ... good for your marks :D (at least it was on a Saturday, haha)),
and it has a nie skill curve which most games don't have, unfortunately. I basically started playing FPS games with BF3, and I got more hours into it.

If you are new to CS and the maps, you will get totally owned at first. But don't worry! Play Deathmatch and some Classic Casual, and it gets better as you play! Don't forget to play Competitive, too, though, as it is way more fun, and the Matchmaking system allows for a semi-fair approach for newer players. (except being matched with complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ "every once in a while", the *Leroy Jenkins* type of ppl that run into B on dust2 as the first guy ... with the bomb ... and get shot ..)

Overall, the game allows for loads of fun though ad interested in playing it more seriously, you should easily get a few thousand hours into it! 250 hours for me, and not planning on stopping anytime soon :)
