+I really loved the contrasts in the different areas as I transitioned from one to the next

It is pretty linear, but I don't think it's a bad thing. I never got lost when playing, and even when I tried to explore side rooms - it was *usually* apparent where I needed to go, and I still had a really fun time with it.

My biggest complaint about the game is:
(Prefacing this by saying I am basing this off of my initial play-through of the game. The only 2 difficulty options were Easy and Normal. I chose Normal.)
-*SOME* boss fights in the game aren't super engaging. There are multiple fights in the game where bosses have 1 to 3 moves, and then they do those moves over and over *in that order* every time. I don't think I died in a boss fight until I was a little over halfway through the game. This problem is *kinda* fixed whenever you beat the game and unlock the re-fights with Nightmare difficulty. In Nightmare difficulty, you have limited space in boss arenas and have to play around a mechanic that can one shot you. So instead of staying in one place doing the same attack over and over until the boss dies, you actually have to move around while also paying attention to the boss patterns. Definitely more engaging there and I enjoyed that!
-Common enemies weren't that threatening until the second half of the game, most of them can just be stun locked. Later on enemies get better attacks and can be annoying, while also having increased health and damage compared to the beginning of the game.

I really enjoyed this game, it was fun and wasn't too complex. Would recommend to anyone who wants a simple metroidvania to play.
