Chivalry 2 is a fantastic, if somewhat flawed, multiplayer experience. I've had the game since it launched on EGS last year and have only fallen more in love with it in the last 5 months. It scratches an itch that no other game I own can reach, one of chaotic, visceral medieval multiplayer combat. There's a high skill ceiling, but you can also have plenty of fun just running into the fray clicking LMB on repeat.

With the option of 1st or 3rd person gameplay, there's no shortage of immersion here. The game looks great at high settings, and combined with 1st person can lead to some really intense, immersive moments. Being a part of a 32 v 32 frontline stalemate on a bridge with nowhere to go but forward as shields and armor smash into each other is just awesome, there's no other way to say it. The kills are satisfying and make you feel like a badass, even if you blundered into them.

My only real knock on the game is that it has some (somewhat endearingly) annoying bugs that have persisted for a while now. Sometimes, a thrown weapon on a direct path to an opponents head will simply freeze in midair, inches from their face, hanging there useless. Sometimes you will respawn a few feet under the map, sending you into a freefall that eventually kills you again. Currently, choosing to go helmetless with your character will (most of the time) result in you spawning with a default, base-level helmet on instead.

None of those bugs are game-breaking, but they can be a real buzz kill at times, and the fact that some of them have persisted through most of the game's life cycle so far is somewhat disheartening. Torn Banner is a small developer, though, so I give them some leeway in that department. The game has enough charm, with a big dose of visceral, skill-based combat and just a splash of light-hearted silliness, that you can very easily manage to overlook these small flaws.

The game gets semi-regular updates adding maps, weapon skins, seasonal event playlists etc. and has a team that seemingly does its best to engage with and listen to the community.

tl;dr This game delivers on its promise of large-scale, intense medieval combat. The fighting is fun, with room to be a casual swing-and-pray player or highly-skilled swordsman, and the maps are well designed. It has its bugs here and there, but I don't find them to ruin the experience. TB is a good dev that has lightning in a bottle here with a lot of potential for growth. If you're on the fence, I say pull the trigger, then come find me on the field; My axe is thirsty...

Early Access Review
A fantastic, immersive ghost hunting experience. It's a great co-op game with equal parts horror and mystery-solving. The devs are adding to the game constantly, polishing things up, expanding the stable of ghosts you can encounter and adding new maps and items to keep things fresh.

If you like to be spooked, this is a great game for the price.

Be sure to play in the dark!

One of the quintessential team play shooters. Atmospheric, immersive, intense, and tons of fun. No lone wolves need apply; to survive, you'll need to stick close to your teammates and help each other out. It's almost 2021 and while the game has been out for quite some time now, the graphics and gameplay hold up to make it an enjoyable experience all these years later. This one's a no-brainer for anyone who likes zombies, FPS, horror, and high-intensity gameplay.

The epitomy of the hectic, team-building multiplayer experience.
