Soooo.. let's see...
This review will be fair, with pros and cons and with a little personal realization, ppl from Tenkaichi 3 times could be interested in before buying or playing.

First things first, would I recommend buying this game?
- By my standards for this game and after playing over 5hrs on the first day until I had to go to sleep cuz of work -> Yes.
My standards for criticizing are of the "Level: Fair" So neither harsh nor lax, but just reasonable.

Pros: (1) Good environmental graphics ; (2) Nice Animations ; (3) Good and reasonable upgrade at various points from Tenkaichi 3, like music customization, game mode customization and such ; (4) Clever menu ; (5) Well remade fighting system, it feels like Tenkaichi 3, cuz it's pretty much exactly that. It's a little bit off tho, it's the same as T3, it's also a little bit worse and also a bit better, more to that in Cons ; (6) All "props" destroyable OR even just damageable, which is cool to shoot someone into a house, they stop their momentum tho and the house just get's damaged and a dent, it's fun ; (7) staying very true to Tenkaichi 3 ; (8) P1 vs P2 mode.

There could be more Pros and Cons, but I'm only at 5+ hours after all when writing this.
But I still think I saw enough to make a review at this point for a first impression.

Cons: (1) Why does it reload map textures every time I use the map? Not sure if it happens on "Repeat Match"
But at least at World Tournaments. Next Round and it needs to load textures, why am I in a loading screen before that? ;
(2) Sometimes when you look up to your enemy you see the Sky-Box below the ground, hmm... ;
(3) I don't like the Music, they really didn't care here. Like it's generic DB sounding music, no banger tho at any point, non of them hype you up and stuff. The music is not bs, but you can feel, they thought it didn't matter ;
(4) The menu is a bit busy, while I like the menu and find it clever and cool, it comes of a bit hectic. Not sure what I would recommend here tho, so well.. ; (5) While the fighting system seems mostly the same and at some points even better and enhanced, at some points it seems a bit worse. Sometimes you get a hint a a little lag here and there and I feel like idk.. as if I can't observe the fight as good as in T3 anymore, is the camera too close? idk honestly. The Ki-Sprint is also different. You can sprint more freely now, which is cool, but it's also harder to maneuver with it now, but that's a skill-issue I guess ; (6) While the destroyable props feel way cooler now, they lose quality in the last third of the destroying. Why does a house still turn into styrofoam-plates when destroyed? (7) Staying very true to Tenkaichi 3. Wait what? Yea, this will also be the transition into my personal note to all of this. It's just like Tenkaichi 3, that we all loved and adored, pretty bland.
While they tried staying true to the game and elevating it a bit here and there. I think they were too scared that ppl would dislike it for doing too much "More" or "Differently" at certain points. Ppl wanted a new T3 and that's what they pretty much got. It's more like a remake tho than a new game. Which isn't even that bad, but let me explain in my personal note now.

Playing Sparking Zero for 5+ hours yesterday I learned a lot about games in general these days and about myself and us.
I started this journey seeing achievments after every battle. I immidiately tried to grind through a few making plans how to play to make these tasks and achievments efficient and least boring as possible. my first 5 fights were cool and boring at the same time. What ould be BEST to do next? What would be BEST to do later? What would be BEST to get an edge over the others, how can I optimize? And so on and so forth. I used the a mix of the coolest and my fav characters and won my fights better and better over time as my muscle memories from 17 years ago came back more and more. But I didn't have fun.
In general the game felt bland. I played P1 vs CPU like 12 times, then Tournaments and then a bit of story.
I know the story like all of us, very well and (oh, Con (8) The presentation of the story is'nt nearly as good as it could be)
But what to do now? I don't need to play the story, and even if I did what then? What is there to do still besides playing online? The game doesn't offer much. But mid fight P1 vs CPU it hit me.
The reason T3 was so perfect to us back then was our own passion over DB and the will to be a part of this world.
We filled the game with our immagination back then. The game supports that very well after all.
Sure, gaming as a kid with lots of fantasy is different to gaming as an adult, but hear me out further.
Because that made me realize something about games nowadays.
Nowadays games are always occupying us with tasks, achievments, maps, farming, grinding, events that we don't want to miss out, progressing, being better than others. The extreme of that problem is for example Genshin Impact, where you get literally burned out by this. It's rarely about just fun anymore. It's rarely about just doing what you want there anymore. It's rarely about diving into these gaming worlds anymore. We are conditioned like this nowadays with games.
Back then it was not like this. The games provided you with a setting, like DB Tenkaichi 3, like Tomb Raider, like Counter Strike 2, like Sonic the Hedgehog, like Mario Sunshine like whatever you got in mind rn reading this.
I realized this and suddenly had 5x more fun.
My honest tip at this point: Enjoy the game like back then.
We can't get the feelings from back then back, like with Pokemon on the GameBoy, Metin2, Tenkaichi 3 or whatever.
And if, we can't hold that feeling for long. We are adults now. But to everyone reading this whatever age you are.
Enjoy the diving in instead of grinding the game and asking yourself "what now?" Too many games nowadays tell us what to do next. Take it as an experience.

Closing my review of now:
The game is like back then T3, some things are better, some are worse. You can both feel the passion in remaking T3 and the no ducks given at a few crucial points like the music and looking under the map mid fight.
Most problems could be fixed or made better by updates. Let's hope they don't milk it into destruction.
Overall I'm happy with the outcome, hoping for fixes and betterments over time and can't wait for Moro, Merus, UE Vegeta and B Freezer at some point. The devs shouldn't be too afraid to change things for the better or add cool things that would be new. T3 was not perfect either.

Thanks for reading :-)
