You have two options to progress at a decent pace:
1) you progress with your credit card, fastest but expensive.
2) you play a lot of hours to get a little bit close to the whales, if your daily schedule is tight, the progress will be slow and painful, having bad RNG with drops truncates your progress dramatically.

Is not a bad game but still has too many things to improve.

In conclusion, if you have a lot of time is fine, if not and you are not willing to pay (which is my case)... skip IMHO you won't do much at least in short term
