Frustrating/pointless difficulty with no enjoyable payoff. No satisfaction from overcoming challenges

I originally left a negative review as the game wiped my inventory 8 hours in and I had to start a new play through. Although I'm changing this to a positive review, I'll leave this note at the top as losing all my progress was a terrible first impression for the game. I regularly backed up my save on my second character and the game ended up wiping my inventory a second time. Thankfully, I didn't lose much progress from my backed up save. After searching online, inventory wipes seem to be a common issue in multiplayer

This game is a short experience. It took me about 15 hours to complete including the story, every single side quest in the game and exploring extensively for loot. There's no new game plus and nothing to do after clearing the story and side quests

You can take your character in to multiplayer to use in someone else's game even after finishing the story. There is no matchmaking so you can only play with people on your friends list (or couch coop mode)

The gameplay is very simple but satisfying. Your build doesn't really matter so you can customise your character however you want. If you get stuck in a particular fight then you can swap in a different ability to take advantage of a weakness. There are a lot of obviously useless abilities and equipment as well as obvious best-in-slot items/abilities. You can fully re-spec and redesign your character at any point so don't worry about spending all your skill points on things you're not sure about

I played about 80% of the game coop and 20% solo. The game was much more fun in coop but it's still worth it to play single player. I didn't notice any scaling so the game just gets easier for each player you add

I would describe Cyberpunk 2077 as The Witcher 3 with guns. The story is significantly shorter than the Witcher and so are a lot of the side quests. It doesn't add anything more than the Witcher 3 offered so don't expect to be able to cause random chaos, build a base, customise an apartment or anything like that. As long as you are OK with that then you'll have a good time

There are no real side activities, mini games or proper character customisation so you'll basically be going from map marker to map marker for the whole game. You also can't interact with the world in any meaningful way so you really are just ticking off the missions from start to finish
