I've played through a few hours on this one, both Co-op and Single player, and I have to say it really does live up to the original in terms of mechanical gameplay. Not quite as much camp, which I missed, but it follows the Borderlands Basics: billions of guns, bunches of bastards to shoot, and barrels of laughs to be had.
The new NPC audio is always amusing, and I'm liking a central hub to work out of. New DLC content that has seasonal nuance is welcome as well, along with the customization options for character looks.
Gameplay is smooth and enjoyable, and the mechanics easy to understand. Progression does not feel out of sync with difficulty, and you will pay in blood and bullets for advancement.
But most of all - it's fun.
