Something that is "Based" is something that is righteous or true.
"Based" is an expression that is used sometimes ironically, sometimes not. I used it un-ironically in its most frequent sense of: "clear-minded, unencumbered by dominating discourses or pop-culture morals". I think originally some black rapper Lil B started this, referring to himself as the 'based god' used it as "smart, based in reality", or something. It is sometimes accompanied by "redpilled", referring to Morpheus' offer to Neo: "take the red pill to see what the Matrix is".
