CS2: An all smoke and mirrors game
With the rise of Valorant, Valve decided to step their game up once. And here comes CS2, a port of CSGO into the Source 2 engine which is quite a feat from a technical and graphical standpoint. It is also quite obvious that the artstyle has shifted into a more bright and colourful palette inorder to match its current competitor.

How does it hold up in comparison to CS:GO?
Despite being an upgrade, as many people have pointed out, this game is far from polished. It simply doesn't hold up to its original counter part. Features that were present in the previous game, like my favourite cl_righthand 0 (among others) are simply non-existent as of writing this review.

The elephant in the room.
However, my main complaint about this game is the anti-cheat, the most vital component of the game that also indirectly affects ranking and matchmaking especially if you self-queue like an idiotic mas:bloodshot:chist like I do, is AI-based which is a problem because people have been wrongfully banned (which thankfully valve reverted it) while others are closeted cheaters that the AI simply CANNOT detect. And all of that could've been prevented if they didn't mess up OW.

Here's a yt video that explains the current problem

Matchmaking:
This problem had already existed even prior to the release of CS2 (such as the language barrier with non english-speakers in general) but it has exacerbated due to the aforementioned anti-cheat but also the reset of the ranks which resulted to balancing issues.
(eg. deranked highranks are stuck with former cs:go silvers). Toxicity remains the same especially in lower ranks if not worse. (This comes from a guy that used to be gold nova 1 at some point and I ended up in silver 1 btw)

Conclusion:
For the diehard fans in competitive out there, stay away from competitive (including premier) and play casual, this game feels like it's stuck in beta atm.
