As of 0.7, this game has potential again!!

Alright here I go, writing a 3 page long review that maybe one or two people will read.

Let's start off with the positives here:
1. Stunning graphics, they are so realistic in every way, but sitll manage to keep a cartoony feel that we all want in a game. Probably my favorite graphics in a game.

2. Huge terrain, amazing scenery, and terrain you can actually do stuff with is a huge plus to this game. (It is a survival game after all.)

3. Who doesn't want to ride a T-Rex into the sunset after you successfully destroyed a tribe and watched all of their hard work burn to the ground. I mean come on?

5. Flying on dinosaurs is pretty fun.

6. Huge huge potential to become an amazing game

7. The oceans are beginning to actually come to life, one of the first games that does that. (Even in Depth, the game about an ocean, the oceans don't come to life like they should.)

8. I'm sure there are more I can't think of right now.


Now for the negatives, and please don't take this as me just raging about losing because I do not get mad at games.


1. The hunger system. Seriously? The hunger seems to go away to starving in around 5 minutes, and this doesn't go away till you get to a very high level. You starve till you hunt, then you hunt and get lots and lots of food, you eat so much that you probably would gain weight. Next time you happen to behungry, all that food you hunted is spoiled and gone. Very broken system.

2. Grainy and laggy. Yes this has to do with the computer you have, my computer runs the game just fine. But the majority of people will not have a computer powerful enough to run this game. Putting it on low graphics works, but takes away from the game in so many ways.

3. Everything fun is at a high level. Notice that most of the people who say this is a fun game, have around 1,000 (or more) hours on it. I found one guy who said he loves this game, but he spent 1/3 of his time idoling. That's right. Standing still. Amazing gameplay right? When you're new to the game, it's seriously just grinding for hours. There's no true skill involved at all. You hope you spawn near food and walk around for an entire day in real life. Honestly a big waste of time. Not to mention that you could be the poor soul unlucky enough to walk into an enemy sentry gun that they shoved near the beach, and get killed and lose all of your stuff. Higher levels have complete control over the server, to the point where there's almost no point in playing.

4. The lovely combat system that involves a beautiful combination of lag, floating dinosaurs, and unbalanced gameplay. Spend 30 minutes chasing a guy down who you want to kill, only to have his tribe come back an hour later and snipe you while you're sitting in your house. (You might say I shouldn't have attacked him, but the game itself is like watching paint dry, you literally spend most of your time waiting. We needed SOMETHING to do.) Get a high level angry, nothing you can do but leave the server and join another one. A high level is bored and happens to run into your base? Sucks.

5. Levels 1-25 are just wooden crap and grinding. Seriously, look at the engram list. Once you get past 25 it's fun. But to get there you have to be willing to spend literally entire days of your life just walking around in this game.

6. I've said this many times in this review but hey, it needs more emphasis.
THERE. IS. NOTHING. TO. DO.


But if you want a game where you can spend your days walking around a beach and hoping you don't starve to death, while you ignore all of the responsibilities you have in the real world.

42.6 hours I could've been learning to play the viola, or learning to speak German. Instead I was waiting in a game.

This is the single most greatest game ever made. Skyrim needs to take notes. The gameplay is 11/10 and the graphics are astounding. This game is optimized for every PC, and has the greatest driving mechanics I've ever seen in a game. I feel like GTAV took the driving mechanics from this game. And better yet, it has a first person view. As a terrorist if you leave the area you'll get sniped, this further enhances the gameplay expierence by destroying the feelinf of exploration by trapping you in an enclosed area. This alone makes the game feel very alive.


This game has no pay-to-win features and have completely balanced weaponry, with the exception of a few (evenly balanced) DLCs.

Great game.
