100% recommend.
Yes it uses tricks to make your game "feel" smoother, effectively doubling or tripling framerate, at the cost of extremely minor input lag.
That said, It's probably not good to use on competitive games.
My biggest use case so far has been with emulators.
PCSX2, Duckstation, and the one for Nin****o Gam****e.
Since trying to increase the framerate internally on emulators usually either doesn't work, or breaks physics and speed of the game, you're stuck at 60, 30 or sometimes even lower.
This program will give you a "144hz" or higher experience if your monitor refresh rate supports it.

This is a very smooth port of another classic PS2 title.
Persona 4 Golden in my opinion has the best (English) voice cast with the most notable ones to me being:
Yuri Lowenthall (Haseo from .hack GU, Marvel's Spider-Man)
Laura Bailey (English dub of Shin Chan)
Troy Baker (Booker DeWitt of BioShock Infinite)
This alone made the game incredibly enjoyable. It does have a mature theme just like the other persona games, with all the murder and suggestive themes, but is a solid mainline entry to play if you're looking for more Persona content after playing 5 as your first entry into the series

An extremely rocky start that I was there for on day one. The game barely ran at 30 fps on my GTX 1070 Ti (because ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ bots scooped up all the 3080s) I decided to cave, and buy a pre built PC with a 3080 so I could at least try to experience this title.
It was still extremely buggy, but the devs who were already overworked and stressed continued to improve and make it right. I recently played it here and there again throughout this past year and it's like a night and day difference from launch. The real heart and soul of the game is there now.

A remake on par with with the likes of Resident Evil 4 remake.
After going through P5R for the first time in summer of 2023, then P4G for the first time in late fall/winter 2023, I was pleasantly surprised when this was announced. In my opinion, Persona 3 has the best story, and leaves your soul with a lasting effect after the final scene plays and credits begin to roll. Without discussing spoilers, it immediately made me want to hug my fiance, my cats, and my best friends so they know how important they are to me.

A truly faithful recreation of my favorite Resident Evil title. The mechanics that were put into the most recent RE titles (RE7, RE2/3 remake, RE8) I feel like were all experiments resulting in this masterpiece.
It stays true to the original in its overall theme, but modernizes everything. No doubt, it does have a good challenge that rewards practice and persistence.
The extra DLC involving the side character is also amazing, but some may argue it should have been included/free as an update.
The way I see it is this, the base game is a full complete experience, and the DLC is just that, extra content.
There is also a very active modding scene to further enhance and create new ways to play.

My first Persona game was P3 FES in 2008. I never was able to finish it because our used copy was too scratched to progress past a certain point.
I basically dropped the series until June of 2023. After heading nothing but praise of 5 I decided to dive back in. I was taken on an emotional ride over the whole summer through my first 110 hour playthrough.
It has genuinely become one of my favorite RPGs of all time. I fell in love with the characters as they reminded me of myself in high school being angry at the injustice of society.
Going through this game brought back my interest in single player games, as I also played the entire thing directly on my Steam Deck. Even with mods.
If you've never played a Persona game, this is both the best and the worst game to start with. It has the best mechanics so far, so any older entries may seem heavily outdated.

My experience with Resident Evil when this came came out in 2005 was "I played the demo of RE3 included with Dino Crisis and the first hour of Code Veronica on Dreamcast before we had to return it to the video rental store"
This was truly the first Resident Evil title that got me into the series. Originally playing it on PS2,I eventually re-purchased it for Wii, PC (2007 Ubisoft port), iOS, and the 2014 ultimate HD version here.
At this point, this is truly the best way to experience the original. Do yourself a favor and get the re4 HD texture pack to breathe new life into this classic title.

I've sunk many hours into this game both solo and with friends. This game kind of revived my interest in roguelike titles with how easy it is to pick up. Even if it's intimidating at first, you can choose drizzle (easy difficulty) to get used to the characters and items without as much pressure.
Not to mention the mod support. If you really want to, you can download many custom mods, namely characters, to create new ways to play.
Imagine squadding up in Risk of Rain 2 with your boys, playing as Goku, Sora, Aatrox, and Tracer.
♥♥♥♥♥ hella fun.

Seems like fun but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the cups do not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ work. I spent legit 30 seconds trying to pick up a filled cup (made sure if was full because you have to hit the drink button twice to fully fill it) and its just broken. When you grab a filled cup 9/10 times it just sticks there so you have to let your grip go and try again, and if you accidentally don;t take it when it actually grabs it, good luck, you gotta grab it 10 more times. Only played half an hour so far but I don't know how much more I can take. The rest of it seems fine and is fun but ♥♥♥♥, this is something I find gamebreaking.

Edit: 07/23/2022:
Haven't played since Christmastime last year. Seems like the game is in a proper state now. Ignoring the 2 new characters, and the couple of new ridden I've seen, bugs appear to be squashed, and the overall fun factor has been improved. Since I last played, they also made small changes to hud/icons, and it definitely feels like copper is way more generous. Maybe to help along with the new 4th difficulty added? Actually looking forward to finding out.

Edit: 10/27/2021:
Still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ broken and still can't play the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. 2 weeks post release and no word on any fix. Seriously can't even just hotfix in a button in options for "Skip Pre-Rendered Campaign Cutscenes"?

I was able to play the Beta a few months ago with friends and had a really good time, even though it felt a little buggy.
Little things like your secondary needing a reload after a new level, never finding a 4th teammate, and bots getting stuck, not shooting anything, or hanging from a concrete barrier when the road is 1ft below their dangling feet.
I expected these things from a Beta. That's what it's there for. I paid for the Deluxe to support the devs. It came with early access, so I downloaded the game early on Oct. 7th. Couldn't even play the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.
Others on Steam, Reddit, and the official B4B bug report site have shown that if you're on a Pre-Release/Dev build of Windows 11, the first cutscene on mission 1 has no audio, and then if it's skipped or played out, the game just crashes. No workaround other than just skipping the 1st level entirely. So you start on level 2. However, there is another prerendered cutscene after level 4, which also crashes the game, and your progress doesn't save till after the cutscene. So you're just set back to the start of level 4.
I've been keeping track of the bug on https://back4blood.bugs.wbgames.com and it is now the 2nd highest reproduceable bug after Ultrawide monitor errors. Only just yesterday when the game officially released, did the progress go from "open" to "in-progress". Almost a week into people complaining and no official word on why it's happening or a fix planned.
I seriously can't believe that no one on the dev team has been running a prerelease build of Windows 11 in the past 3 months they've been available.

Game is actually fun otherwise, but still has a ♥♥♥♥ ton of bugs that I'm hoping all our $60+ pre-orders will go to making sure it's fixed. For now though, can't even play properly so can't recommend it.
