Ingredients

For the chicken:

• 1 whole chicken (~1.5kg)
  
• 1 tbsp salt (for scrubbing the skin)
  
• 5 slices of ginger
  
• 4 stalks spring onions
  
• Ice water (for shocking)

For the rice:

• 2 cups jasmine rice (rinsed and drained)
  
• 2 tbsp chicken fat or neutral oil
  
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
  
• 2 slices ginger
  
• 2.5 cups chicken broth (from poaching)

For the chili sauce:

• 3 red chilies
  
• 2 cloves garlic
  
• 1-inch piece of ginger
  
• 2 tbsp chicken broth
  
• 1 tbsp lime juice
  
• Salt and sugar to taste

For the soy drizzle:

• 2 tbsp light soy sauce
  
• 1 tbsp chicken broth
  
• 1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

1. Rub the chicken with salt to clean and smooth the skin. Rinse well.
   
2. Stuff the cavity with ginger and spring onion. Simmer gently in a pot of water (just enough to cover) for about 35 minutes.
   
3. Immediately transfer the chicken to an ice water bath for 10 minutes.
   
4. Heat chicken fat or oil in a pan. Sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant. Add the rinsed rice and stir for 2–3 minutes.
   
5. Pour in chicken broth. Cook rice in a rice cooker or pot as usual.
   
6. Blend chili sauce ingredients until smooth. Adjust salt, sugar, and lime juice to taste.
   
7. Chop the chicken, drizzle with soy sauce mix. Serve with rice, cucumber slices, chili sauce, and a side of broth.

ok this visual novel is really really worth to read. great plot, great story, funny and worth with the price.. no doubt.. real ending is such beautiful.. DONT STOP READING!
